Here’s Erin staging a 9 foot Maple table that we just dropped off at Inline Lighting showroom in Montgomery. It’s taking the place of another of our tables that was sold yesterday to a local business.

This table was custom built for someone on Lake Martin, but they realized after a few months that they needed a bigger table! It is finished in a To***co stain and has a thick top. Someone can get a great deal on this table! Just check with Erin, Candace, Allison, or one of the other amazing salespeople at Inline!

So I (Neill) found out that Mah Jong was a thing! No, Sylvia doesn’t play yet, she’s been taking pottery classes every week ☺️.

Interior Designer Cindy Barganier had a customer that wanted Mah Jong tables, pub height, that could be put together to make one long one, that also matched an existing sideboard.

Cindy found these bases at a great price, and brought them to the shop. We built the table tops to match the base and be lightweight, but appear thick.

If you find a base that you really love, we can add a top that will be a perfect combination!

I used to dislike the “finishing” part of building furniture. Often times I would pawn it off to one of our employees. I really enjoyed planning, building, and adjusting. But over time, I have grown to love this part. I try to make sure the finish is flawless, with even stain, and no imperfections. It gives me a lot of pride to actually “finish”.

Thinking about that today, I’m so thankful He finished. He could have come to this world and taught, healed the sick, and performed miracles. But He said “not my will but your will be done”. He endured a brutal beating, being mocked, and suffering the worse death imaginable, and He could have stopped it all with one word. But He didn’t.

If you have a special place in your heart for Wynlakes, Montgomery and especially the golf course, we are blessed to have around 3000 board feet of beautiful White Oak lumber from trees taken down last year, courtesy of CMT Tree Service!

This huge coffee table is about three inches thick and would make a beautiful centerpiece for your den. We have a few more of these in various sizes and can put them on any base you would like. This one is 56” long and 35” wide.

You can also have a special gift made, like the cake stand we made for a recent wedding, or you can meet with us and plan your dining table, sofa table, desk, or any piece of furniture you can imagine. We’ve included an example of a popular White Oak table we recently delivered to Vestavia.

White Oak is currently the most expensive domestic wood, because it is used in whiskey barrels. (Last year Kentucky exported 30 million used barrels!). However, we can offer it for less because it was locally sourced.

Men come in all the time and say they are so glad their wives aren’t with them or they would be buying one of our tables! So we thought we would give you a peek of our number one seller…we call this table “ #1” for that reason:) Today, we offering it on special for $2400, til April 3rd, just in time for those family gatherings this Easter:)

This table is made of beautiful ambrosia maple, finished in our top quality General Finishes Provincial Stain and 3 clear topcoats for that extra protection. It is 8 foot long and 42 inches wide. Long enough to seat 8-10 people depending on your chair width. Perfect for that family and friend gathering.

We have a gallery full of what we call “spec” tables. The table pictured below is one of about a dozen tables that we have in the gallery. We use them to show the broad range of Neill’s craftsmanship and what we can custom build for you. Class update: Date night classes for May (16th, 5:30pm) and June (26th, 6pm) will be published for booking online in the next hour🙂

We got to eat at one of our FAVORITE restaurants, owned by one of our FAVORITE customers the other day. Leidi Espinosa and her husband, Alex, own El Taco Shop, in east Montgomery. They and their children are the nicest, and the restaurant is amazing! If you haven’t tried El Taco Shop, go soon!

We made a Maple vanity, stained in General Finishes Antique Oak stain, about a year go, for their master bathroom. We recently made a matching Maple wardrobe, which added lots of storage.

We’ve made several vanities finished with this stain, which really compliments a white, or light colored bathroom.

We teamed up with Thomas Milton at Diversified Steel to make this conference table for Jeffrey Day at Day Structures in downtown Prattville. The modern industrial look fits perfectly in the beautifully restored office!

We first worked with Thomas and his team, six years ago, for the Hometown Takeover show, on the “Longest Bar in Alabama” at Coaches Corner restaurant. When it comes to metal, Thomas can fabricate anything!

Out of all the things that drive us to do our best, at Longleaf Wood Shop, we value trust the most. This 12’ Walnut table is the third table we’ve built for the Newell family. We’ve also built Maple barn doors, bunk beds, a bench, and we are currently working on a large executive desk.

The choice for Walnut,along with the table design, fits their space perfectly. We really enjoy working with our customers to help bring that “WOW” factor to their homes.

Shout out to Wonder Woman (Sylvia Thompson), who worked at Jackson Monday thru Wednesday, taught new nursing students Thursday and Friday at Baptist South, and then today (Saturday), after a Costco run and other errands, came and worked at the shop, finishing up with a topcoat on this 12’ Walnut table(along with nursing me after a traumatic accident on Tuesday-thats for another day).

She will be pampered tomorrow!
