We are a state-of-the-art, inviting, and fun dental practice specializing in children from birth to young adulthood, as well as children with special needs. Dr. Bush is a graduate of UAB Dental School and completed his pediatric dental residency at Children’s Hospital in Birmingham. He has been treating children in the River Region since the summer of 2017. BPD also has its very own certified therapy dog named Poppy that can help soothe any stress or anxiety your child may have about going to the dentist. We would love to help your kiddos em’bark on a healthy smile!

🎉 Say hello to Mason, Poppy’s Pal of the Week! 🦷💙 Mason is 6 years old and heading into 1st grade 📚. His favorite color is blue 🎨, and his favorite part about visiting the dentist is getting a blue sugar-free lollipop 🍭 and using the water to brush his teeth 💦. When he grows up, he wants to be a police officer 🚓. Mason loves to play soccer ⚽—he says he can kick the ball 98 feet in the air and score all the goals! 🙌 When it comes to food, his favorites are mushroom pizza 🍕 and hog maws 🐷 because “they give me big muscles!” 💪 We’re so proud of you, Mason! What a transformation! 🤩🤩🤩 This patient went from baby bottle decay to bright and healthy with the most natural, beautiful, zirconia crowns that Dr. Bush used to restore her smile. Don’t worry at all, your child isn’t the only child who has this issue!🍼➡️✨

Baby bottle decay often happens from nighttime bottle feeding or prolonged exposure to sugary liquids like milk, formula, or juice before bed. 🌙🍼
Bacteria in the mouth feed on these sugars, producing acids that erode enamel, especially overnight when saliva production decreases. 🦠➡️🦷

We treated this sweet smile gently and effectively, focusing on preserving those tiny teeth for a couple more years before she loses them. 😊🦷 Healthy dental habits-like avoiding bottles or sippy cups at bedtime, brushing twice daily, and regular dental checkups-can prevent any problems down the road. 🪥🗓️
