Today, nearly half a million young people are in foster care in the United States. Many of these children and youth face overwhelming challenges, including food insecurity, getting behind in school, and even trusting authority figures in their lives. There are hundreds of kids in foster care in Alabama alone who are at risk of facing these obstacles.

We were thrilled to see Mayor Saliba, Embrace Alabama Kids board member on the opposite end of the state last week as we visited our new higher education home in Florence. We're looking forward to our students moving in this year!
