Embrace Alabama Kids

In response to God’s Word, we embrace and nurture vulnerable children and families by providing homes, healing and hope.

We provide homes, hope, and healing to families, children, and youth impacted by abuse and neglect through a number of homes and programs. We care for children, teens and college-age youth through residential group homes and a foster care program. However, we also work with families to address harmful behavior through our Family Preservation program which provides interventions for families who are at risk for having their children removed or working toward reunifying with their children. Most recently, we've expanded our ministry with a home for homeless women and children, a population that merges with our service footprint of serving vulnerable children and families. Ministry Highlight: Through our Babies First program, we provide teen mothers in foster care with love, acceptance and stability in the midst of adversity stemming from neglect, abuse or abandonment. Housing both a teen mother and her baby, we provide all the resources necessary for them to live, grow and thrive. Due to the various challenges associated with caring for a teen mother, our program is known throughout the state of Alabama for its ability to provide customized care for this population of vulnerable youth. This program is made possible by funding through the Alabama Department of Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention.

Last week we joined Embrace Florida Kids and visited the Milton Girls Home - a safe home environment where girls can live, learn, grow and thrive while connecting with other young women.

The Milton Girls Home provides up to 10 girls with more than 1,600 combined days of care each year, and we are proud to share that the girls in the home have a 100% high school graduation rate.

It’s a blessing to see the girls doing so well and also for our staff to observe their home life and know their work, and your support, matter every day.

The Embrace Higher Education program provides stable, loving homes for college students from alternative living arrangements such as relatives, friends, homeless or foster care. The goal of our Higher Ed program is to cultivate growth in individuals with a focus on academic, spiritual and social development.

It was an exciting day in Tuscaloosa with the Nick's Kids Foundation! We are grateful for the continued generosity of the donors and the efforts of Nick and Terry Saban as they help us provide homes, healing and hope to children and families in Alabama. Last week, we saddled up with our staff, board members, supporters and best western gear for our Annual Awards Celebration to recognize our children and families across Alabama and Florida at Kick Back Ranch!

This year's three day camp gave the entire Embrace ministry the opportunity to fellowship over meals, outdoor adventures, crafts, rodeo roundups and hope. We culminated the celebration with our annual banquet that highlights the achievements of all our children and youth. We were proud to honor them for their accomplishments in academics, athletics, extracurricular activities, leadership and service.
