I’ve made a decision that feels both deeply personal and long overdue: I’ll be going by Dr. Amanda—no last name.
This isn’t about distancing myself from where I come from. It’s about choosing a name that reflects who I’ve become. My work, my journey, and the path it took to earn that “Dr.” are central to how I show up in the world.
Dropping my last name is, in many ways, an act of alignment. It allows me to be more approachable, more human, and more fully myself—while still honoring the years of dedication, study, and growth that shaped my work.
Names carry history, expectation, and identity. This one feels intentional. Grounded. Earned.
Same commitment. Same purpose. Just a name that fits.
So here I am: Dr. Amanda.
