April is OT Month!

Occupational therapy intervention uses everyday life activities (occupations) to promote health, well-being, and your ability to participate in the activities that are important to you. This includes any meaningful activity that a person wants to accomplish, including self care, caregiving, working, volunteering, going to school, play and leisure, among many others. Our occupational therapists consistently help individuals with physical, mental, developmental, emotional, or environmental barriers to gain more independence and success in their daily lives!

Today we said Farewell to our Jo-Jo 😞! Although we will miss her, we are so thankful for the lasting impact she has made on many families and students across our region! Texas is lucky to have her and we pray for a safe journey and the start of a fun new adventure for her family!

It is an honor to officially open our mental health services to veterans! What a special day thanks to an amazing team of counselors, therapists, state partners, veteran support organizations and especially our vets and families for making this a reality! Faith is truly shaping futures here and providing help and hope to folks across Alabama not only through our services, but also by training the next generation of healthcare professionals! We offer LSVT BIG which is an evidence based program that trains individuals with Parkinson’s disease to use their body more “normally” by focusing on bigger motions.
