Meet Our DovePT Team 🕊️

Dr. Cleve Carter III is a native of Montgomery, Alabama. He is a licensed Physical Therapist, Certified Manual Therapist (MTC), Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT), Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), Clinical Instructor, Certified Professional Educator, and an Assistant Professor. His certifications also include specializing in Fascial Movement Taping (FMT). He is certified by the NDTA in Neuro-Development Treatment (C/NDT) in the Management of Adults with Stroke and Brain Injury. In addition, Dr. Carter has published and presented on researched topics such as peripheral arterial disease, lymphedema, manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, strengthening and conditioning, and entrepreneurship in physical therapy.

While earning his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Alabama State University, he worked as a clinical intern at Jackson Hospital in Montgomery, Alabama, Department of Veterans Affairs Central Alabama Veterans Health Care System in Montgomery, Alabama, Princeton Baptist Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama, West Georgia Health System in LaGrange, Georgia, and Dynamic Performance Physical Therapy, Inc. in Huntsville, Alabama.

Over his career as a physical therapist, Dr. Carter has worked for Jackson Hospital and Baptist Health, two of the largest hospital-based outpatient rehabilitation centers in Montgomery, Alabama. Prior to establishing Dove Physical Therapy, LLC, he served as the Outpatient Rehabilitation Coordinator for Baptist Medical Center South’s Outpatient Rehabilitation Services. In addition, he served as an adjunct instructor for the College of Health Sciences in the Physical Therapy Department at Alabama State University. Before joining Alabama State University, he served as an adjunct instructor at South University’s Health Sciences and Physical Therapy Assistant Programs. Dr. Carter evaluates, treats, and prescribes exercise treatments for lymphatic dysfunctions such as lymphedema, orthopedic-musculoskeletal dysfunctions, and neuromuscular dysfunctions.
