September is National Sickle Cell Awareness Month and the Sickle Cell Foundation of Greater Montgomery, Inc. is hosting a Sickle Cell Family Fun Day on Saturday, September 14th. We invite all families, clients and caregivers out to celebrate with us here at 3180 Selma, Highway, Montgomery, AL 36108 from 12:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m..

This Sickle Cell Family Fun Day is an exciting opportunity to fellowship with other Sickle Cell Warriors, learn about the resources available as well as meeting the staff. Make plans to stop by and spend some time with us at this FREE family event. There will be great food, music, bounce houses courtesy of Here Comes the Fun, face painting, games and so much more.

The Lifesouth Blood Mobile will be on hand to accept blood donations.

Since our foundation was incorporated, the Sickle Cell Foundation of Greater Montgomery, Inc., headquartered in Montgomery, AL, has been providing resources for understanding the effects of Sickle Cell Disease. We are devoted to providing educational resources and screening to bring awareness to this crippling disease. The Foundation's services has since been expanded to thirteen counties; Autauga, Butler, Chambers, Chilton, Coffee, Coosa, Crenshaw, Dallas, Elmore, Lowndes, Montgomery, Tallapoosa and Wilcox.

A group of young clients from the Sickle Cell Foundation of Greater Montgomery, Inc. attended the Sun Belt Conference Baseball Championship game between Georgia State vs Coastal Carolina at Riverwalk Stadium.

One Sickle Cell Disease patient, Dwyn'Shae Freeman, was the Guest of Honor and was selected to throw the first pitch of the game! Other Sickle Cell Disease children came out to support her.
