After the children received treatment at the Sickle Cell UAB Clinic in Montgomery, AL on March 27, 2026, they celebrated Easter by playing games and other activities! Our Activity Support Coordinator/Counselor, Ms. Beverly Freeman, was in attendance to help with the festivities! Mr. Eddie McKinney and Ms. Monica VanDiver attended the Run with Friends 5K, hosted as a fundraiser for the Sickle Cell Foundation of Greater Montgomery, Inc. by the Omega Psi Phi, Iota Iota Chapter, on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Montgomery Union Station Train Shed, located at 210 Water Street, Montgomery, AL 36107, from 7:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M., with 200 persons in attendance.

Ms. Beverly Freeman attended a family retreat on Saturday, September 6, from 8:30 A.M. – 12:00 noon, sponsored by Children of Alabama, where there were over 15 Sickle Cell families that gathered in attendance for guidance and fellowship with other Sickle Cell Disease clients who are dealing with this dreadful condition. The retreat was held at Children’s Harbor, located at 434 Children Harbor Drive, Eclectic, AL 36024.

Ms. Monique Hopkins and Ms. Pamela Hopkins participated in a Community Health Fair hosted by First Baptist Church of Greater Washington Park, on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at the Cleveland Avenue YMCA, located at 1201 Rosa L. Parks Avenue, Montgomery, AL 36108, from 10:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M., where 50 persons received Sickle Cell education.
