💪💪 51 years old and STILL getting stronger!! 💪💪

I’m proud of this one. I have done periodized strength training for many years, but in the past few months, I’ve been more consistent with heavy lifting, eating more protein, and adding creatine to my morning coffee.

Bent Over Row is one of my standard movements, my long time 1RM PR(rep max/personal record) remained steady at 135 #.

Today, I successfully lifted 150 #!

I wish I had video of it, instead, I snapped a photo of my barbell. 🤩
(There’s (25+15+10+5+2.5) x2 + 35 # bar = 150 )

Remember, it’s NEVER too late to start and we can still get stronger as we age! 🙌🏼💪

Want a simple, high-protein breakfast idea that keeps you full?

You’ve probably heard me talk about the power of starting your day with at least25–30g of protein.

But I often get asked — “What can I eat to get that much protein?”
(And as someone who doesn’t eat meat, I get it — it can take a little creativity and simple additions!)

My new Go-To: cottage cheese scrambled eggs.

Yep, it’s a thing — have you seen all the trending recipes including cottage cheese?? It's a sneaky and delicious way to amp up your protein!

How I make them:
Whisk 2 eggs with ¼ cup cottage cheese, and cooked them exactly how you normally cook scrambled eggs, and let me just say:
✨Super fluffy
✨No lumps, the cottage cheese texture melts away
✨Surprisingly delicious

To the eggs, I added:
➕ A dash of turmeric + black pepper (for inflammation support)
➕ A sprinkle of cayenne (for flavor + metabolism boost)
➕ 1/4 c of Mexican blend shredded cheese
➕ 1 slice of Dave’s Killer White Done Right bread (because balance!)

Total Macros: 408 calories | 28g protein | 25g carbs | 21g fat
I was full for hours.

A common myth about midlife weight gain is:

🔹 “Just eat less and move more.”

Not only is that outdated — it’s often harmful. Especially in midlife, when hormonal shifts and inflammation are at play, more restriction and intense workouts can backfire.

And when your male partner or younger friend easily drops weight by skipping breakfast and hitting the gym for long cardio sessions, but when YOU do it, you end up tired and fluffier
… It’s easy to feel like something’s wrong with you.

But it’s not you. It’s the strategy.

You need a plan designed for your body — one that supports hormones, balances blood sugar, and calms inflammation.

Health isn’t black or white—just like this beach, it’s a blend of different elements coming together. The black lava rock from the land and the white coral from the sea create something beautiful, just as different approaches to health create balance.

I look silly, but I’m warm! It’s a cold, crisp day and I’m proud to rep my old FRC (Frisco Run Club) sweatshirt for warmth on my run today!

Set out for a quick run before work - who am I kidding, it was SLOOOW, especially compared to my old Texas running days.

But THAT’s OKAY! I’m still finding my running legs and lungs at 7000ft elevation and I have ignored running for quite some time.

Remember to stay compassionate with yourself when you’re getting back into exercise, or starting something new. You may not have the endurance or stamina that you expect, you may need just to walk and keep a slow pace, lighter weights or less time for now. It is OKAY!

Just do what you can today and build as you go. Don’t wait to start until you’re “in better shape” or “lose 5 pounds” just START with something, like a 15 minute walk. Be proud of what you accomplished and keep at it! You will get stronger and faster eventually, but you have to start somewhere.

And FRC folks, the hills in this hood ain’t got nothin on Fisher, come run with me!! 🤩🏃🏼‍♀️🏃⛰️
