Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), or "seasonal depression," refers to experiencing symptoms of depression only during certain seasons. It is thought to be related to changes in the weather, light exposure, and social/environmental influences. In the winter, these changes can include shorter days, less light, weather that limits activities, and holiday-related stress.
