So while the pursuit of virtue may be complex, it is up to each individual to actively strive towards creating a more compassionate and ethical world. As the quote goes, "Be the change you wish to see in the world." With each individual choosing to act with kindness, empathy and understanding, we can create a ripple effect that spreads throughout our communities and beyond. Let us continue to seek knowledge and guidance on morality, but ultimately let us also remember that it is our actions that truly define who we are.

Health insurance, whether public or private, has taken the decision making authority away from the providers. Every health plan has a list of pre-approved medications. Every time I write a prescription for a new drug that is way more effective than any of the older meds, the health insurance enity refuses to pay for it forcing my patients to accept the cheaper less effective alternative. Of course, the driving force behind that is the shameless price gouging perpetrated by the pharmaceutical giants. Recently, I prescribed a new skin cream for eczema that has a retail price of $1,700 for a 60 gram tube. The insurance company refused to pay for that and the patient could not get the more effective treatment. So whenever I prescribe, I have to check the insurance company's list of preferred drugs, half of which is cheap generic crap.

A weak minded president who is unable to assess the danger the world is in, with Iran dragging us toward World War III, is a danger to this planet. But my biggest fear is that if Biden is impeached, Kamala Harris becomes president, who speaks jibberish on every issue and can't make a rational decision on anything. Half of the people in the US are still willing to follow a president with senile dementia and a vice president who speaks incoherently and takes frivolity to a whole new level, as this dynamic duo leads us toward nuclear Holocaust. The next presidential election will determine whether we survive or become extinct.
