❄️ Weather Update for Pediatric Associates of Norwood & Franklin Monday 1/26/2026
Due to the severe weather emergency expected tomorrow, Monday 1/26/26, both our Norwood and Franklin offices will be closed for in-person visits to help keep our families and staff safe and off the roads.
We will remain OPEN for care via TELEHEALTH throughout the day. 💻📞
Our clinical team will be available to evaluate and treat many common childhood illnesses from the safety of your home.
🩺 Conditions that are often appropriate for telehealth include:
Colds, coughs, and congestion
Sore throats
Ear pain
Pink eye
Rashes
Fevers
Vomiting or diarrhea (mild/moderate)
Urinary symptoms
Medication questions or refills
Follow-up questions or reassurance visits
☎️ How to reach us:
When you call our office, our answering service will take your name and call-back number and pass it along to our phone triage nursing team, who will contact you to help answer questions or schedule a telehealth appointment with one of our clinicians.
📱 Please note: our nurses and providers may be calling from private or blocked numbers, so we encourage you to answer any incoming calls.
📸 Sending images securely (if needed):
If you are calling about a rash, eye issue, or another concern where photos may help your clinician, and you are enrolled in Patient Gateway, you can securely send images directly to our clinical team to support your child’s telehealth evaluation.
💊 Pharmacy reminder:
If your child may need a prescription, please check with your local pharmacy to confirm they are open due to the storm. This will help avoid delays if your provider needs to send medication in for you.
🏠 Home safety reminder from our team:
Please take a moment to check your outside dryer vents and exhaust pipes to be sure they are not covered by snow, which can be a safety hazard. Clearing them can help prevent dangerous carbon monoxide buildup in your home.
❄️ Tips for kids playing outside:
We know kids love the snow! If they head outdoors:
Dress in layers, including hats, gloves, and waterproof boots
Take frequent breaks indoors to warm up
Change out of wet clothes right away
Watch for signs of frostbite (pale or numb skin)
Keep playtime shorter when temperatures or wind chills are very low
🧑⚕️ A reminder from our team:
We strongly encourage families to stay off the roads and avoid urgent care or ER visits for non-emergent concerns during the storm. Our pediatric clinicians and triage nurses are here and ready to help you from home.
🚨 If your child is experiencing a medical emergency, please go to the nearest emergency room or call 911.
Thank you for your understanding, flexibility, and for helping keep our community safe. We’re grateful to be able to care for your family — even on a snow day. ❄️❤️☃️
