Q: What is the term for a chronic inflammatory condition that causes scaling and flaking, often on the scalp?
✅ A: Seborrheic Dermatitis.
Pro tip: Don’t confuse it with psoriasis. Seborrheic dermatitis = flaky, scaly, and often itchy, especially on the scalp. Psoriasis usually shows thicker, silvery plaques and can appear on multiple areas of the body. Knowing the difference will save you on exam day!

Why We Glow: Rachel 🌟

“Hello, A3! I’m a licensed Esthetician and Nail Technician. I graduated A3 last year in August of 2024. I’m working at Whisper Creek Spa as Nail 3, Esthetician 1. Which basically means I’ve been working as a Nail Technician for long enough to offer every service and train new employees, and I have been doing Esthetics long enough to still be in training!

Doing night classes at A3 I knew was going to be a struggle—adjusting to a full-time job and schooling and training to add to the workload. But A3 was exceptionally understanding with us night students! Allowing us to have snack breaks and time to stand and get some water on our face.

Studying after not being in school for a very long time came as a surprise—how difficult it would be to get back into the rhythm of things. There were times that I wasn’t so graceful about it, but I’m glad everything was so engaging and fun!

I have so many good things to share about my time at A3 but I’m not going to blow up Instagram. I’ll leave you with this: if you’re considering joining A3, do it—it’s an amazing experience!”
