Congratulations to our Parents as Teachers Team for their recent invite and trip to Washington, D.C.

Our Parents as Teachers team was invited to attend the Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting Roundtable in Washington, DC. The event brought together leaders and advocates from across the country to discuss the impact of home visiting programs and the importance of supporting families during the earliest years of a child’s life.

We are proud of our team for representing our organization and for continuing to advocate for policies that strengthen families, promote healthy development, and support parents in our communities.

As the NACHC 2026 Policy and Issues Forum continues, members of the BJHCHS leadership team had the opportunity to meet with Congressman James Clyburn to advocate for the patients and communities we serve.

They shared the impact community health centers have on access to affordable, quality care across our region.

Our Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Faith Polkey, Chief Operations Officer Natassia Allen, and Chief of Pharmacy Courtney Kaye are in Washington, DC for the NACHC 2026 Policy and Issues Forum, ensuring the voice of community health centers is heard at the national level.

They are meeting directly with federal leaders and their teams to advocate for the patients and communities we serve every day. Meetings included Senator Tim Scott’s office with legislative assistant Meghan McCully, Nancy Mace’s legislative assistant Jon Maslyn, and Senator Graham’s legislative assistant.

These conversations help shape policies that protect and strengthen access to affordable, quality care across our region, and we are proud to have strong leadership representing our mission on Capitol Hill.
