The Visiting Angels story began in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania back in the mid to late 1990’s, when social worker Geoffrey Johnson was visiting seniors in nursing homes. He saw so many seniors he felt just didn’t belong in skilled care facilities. He felt their had to be a way to keep these seniors in their homes. So many of them were still sharp mentally, and just had a few limitations physically. He knew if they just had a little help they could continue to stay in their homes. He knew as a professional in the senior care industry that those who were able to stay in their own homes lived longer, lived healthier and lived happier lives. From his observations, dreams and hard work, Visiting Angels was born. Today, over 650 locally owned Visiting Angels franchises operate across the United States, in Canada, Mexico, South America, South Korea, and most recently in Great Britain and Europe! Local owners customize care with families to provide the quality schedules, services and staff that are needed to love and care for their loved ones!
