When Susan Schmidt went for her mammogram, everything was normal. Six months later, her doctors discovered a small lump on an MRI.

Schmidt’s health plan was a part of Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital’s Hereditary Cancer Risk Program.

“The best thing that was done for me was to put me on the six-month plan," breast cancer survivor Susan Schmidt said.

A new partnership is fostering relationships with residents at a Council Bluffs homeless shelter and college students.

Nebraska Methodist College's Master of Occupational Therapy program has a field-work component. This semester, students have been giving back on Thursdays at New Visions Homeless Services, a partnership formed through the Jennie Edmundson Foundation's Caring For Our Communities program.
