When in doubt, don’t count acupuncture out!! Today we’re celebrating the start of the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milano Cortina, and also answering a question many of you probably sort-of consider while exercising- how beneficial is acupuncture for your body if you’re a highly active or athletic person?
Acupuncture has been shown to help reduce muscle soreness and inflammation, speed up recovery, improve range of motion, and support injury rehab by increasing blood flow and calming the nervous system. Many athletes also use it to manage pain, improve sleep, and stay consistent in training. Some winter athletes who have been known to incorporate acupuncture treatment into their training regimen are Canadian slopestyler Mark McMorris, who competed at the games in Sochi 2014, Pyeongchang 2018, and Beijing 2022, and Chinese-American freestyle skier Eileen Gu, who made her Olympic debut at the Beijing 2022 games.
Incorporate acupuncture into your own training and see just how much of a difference it makes for your body!
