Past and Potential Hosts,

Big change! Councilman Jordan Wu and his two daughters are now in charge of the Villa Park Marines Thanksgiving sponsored by the Villa Park Community Services Foundation. Of course, I am helping them with the transition but the Wu family is going to be great at this! I say “Woohoo”….oh wait…I mean “WuHoo”!!

Jordan and I spoke with Camp Pendelton last week and they only need us to take 60 Marines home for Thanksgiving this year. That means this should fill-up fast, so NOW is your chance to lock in your adopted Marines.

Just go to www.villapark.org/marines and click on the button that says ADOPT A MARINE THIS THANKSGIVING. You will fill-out the form online and make payment via paypal in a few easy steps. It’s easier than pumpkin pie!

Our website has all the details and the page has lots of photos: http://www.villapark.org/marines/ and https://www.facebook.com/VillaParkMarineThanksgiving/. Deadline is late October so act now!

Please go to http://www.villapark.org/marines/ now and adopt two or more Marines for Thanksgiving! Email Marines@reeveco.com with questions. Thank you in advance for stepping up to host! Apologies if you received this email more than once or if you moved from the area and we keep bugging you. Happy Thanksgiving!

Best Regards,
Robert (the outgoing guy) on behalf of Jordan (the incoming guy)

YEAH BABY WE ARE BACK!

The good people at the Armed Services YMCA (ASYMCA) at Camp Pendleton have persuaded the command staff to once again allow the young Marines a day off on Thanksgiving to spend with a nice local family. It has been THREE YEARS since we did this last.

While you can work directly with the ASYMCA to adopt two Marines free-of-charge, you will not get to enjoy the Villa Park Marines Thanksgiving experience you have come to know and love. The VP Marines Thanksgiving requires a donation that covers limo buses, a gift for each Marine and a big welcome party when they arrive in Villa Park on Thanksgiving morning.

It is time to go to the Villa Park Marine Thanksgiving website and sign-up to adopt Marines for Thanksgiving 2022. Just go to www.villapark.org/marines and click on the button that says ADOPT A MARINE THIS THANKSGIVING. You will fill-out the form online and make payment in a few easy steps. It’s easier than pumpkin pie!

When filling out the form online, please list the Name and California Driver’s License number of the actual person from your family that will travel down in the limo to pick-up your Marines on Thanksgiving morning.

Please forward this email to all your friends in Villa Park and in nearby Orange. Let’s do our best to adopt 100+ Marines this year! Our website has all the details and the page has lots of photos: http://www.villapark.org/marines/ and https://www.facebook.com/VillaParkMarineThanksgiving/. Deadline is late October so act now!

The Villa Park Marine Thanksgiving program is Chaired by Samantha Frackelton, Junior at Villa Park High School with an assist from her parents Robert & Madonna Frackelton, older brothers David & Evan, and super-photographer and Facebook Master Dan Dyk. The finances are managed by the Villa Park Community Services Foundation. Any and all payments go direct to the tax exempt non-profit VP Foundation which then pays for the ground transportation, gifts, etc. for the big day.

Please go to http://www.villapark.org/marines/ now and adopt two or more Marines for Thanksgiving! Email Marines@reeveco.com with questions. Thank you in advance for stepping up to host!

The City of Norco mourns the loss of Norco resident U.S. Marine Corps Lance Corporal Kareem Mae'Lee Grant Nikoui who was killed in action while stationed at the Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul, Afghanistan on Thursday, August 26, 2021.

The U.S. Marine, who graduated from Norco High School in 2019 and served in JROTC, was committed to serving his country and is survived by his mother, father and siblings. Lance Corporal Kareem Nikoui’s name will be enshrined on the “Lest We Forget Wall” at the George A. Ingalls Veterans Memorial Plaza, which honors Norconians who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our nation. A Gold Star Families Memorial Monument is currently being constructed at the same location (https://woodywilliams.org/monuments/norco-ca.html).

The City of Norco respectfully salutes the service members who paid the ultimate sacrifice in Kabul, Afghanistan, and our thoughts and prayers are with their families during this difficult time.
