Starting a new chapter in my life.

I’ve been meditating A LOT, allowing my mind to search in areas and see different perspectives. This new chapter I’m about to write in my book of life is going to be monumental.

With that meditation came a lot of reflection, and I want to share a few of the chapters with you.

Chapter 1: From a youth who absolutely despised exercise, my PE teacher forced me to join football. I was one of the captains and earned the Weight Lifter of the Year Award at Troy High School. This was the first lick of confidence in my life, clearly seeing results of my hard work.

Chapter 2: I became a hermit and devoured fitness education, receiving my ACE personal trainer certificate in 2010 at age 19.

Chapter 3: With cert in hand, I walked into LA Fitness on Hollywood Blvd and told them I want to work there. I worked at LA fitness for 3 years, training hundreds of clients. Myself and half the trainers were all fired, that’s how big box gyms operate. It was a blessing and a curse.

Chapter 4: Kicked to the curb, a handful of loyal clients ditched their contracts and followed me to a private gym. I made double the money with a 1/4 of the hours, but had ZERO business skills - I realized I NEVER want to work for a large corporation and decided to pave my own path.

Chapter 5: An old manager hit me up with an opportunity to coach in his 700sqft box. It was a s**t-hole, but we made it work! We decided not to continue the lease because I was not in a position to become owner.

Chapter 6: After closing the little gym, I went back to Plummer Park in WeHo. This was my stomping grounds from 2015-2020. I also got a part time job at Crunch, because I was barely making ends meet.

Chapter 7: Covid shut everything down, killing my biz in 5 days. Having a garage gym, I opened up shop and started doing virtual training with my die-hard clients who will never give up.

Chapter 8 is in the process of being written.

Looking back, I am beyond grateful for EVERY client who trusted in themselves and trusted in me to be their coach.

I can’t tag everyone, because it would be hundreds.

You know who you are. THANK YOU! I would not be here today if it wasn’t for you.

Making the 2nd biggest decision of my life…

June 1st 2023, the dream I have had for 11 years comes to fruition.

I didn’t rely on wishes or hope.

I worked, earned, saved, and invested.

Now I’m putting skin in the game.

ALL IN!!!

What you say to yourself is ultra-important.

You can shut out what other people say, but you will ALWAYS have your own voice, leading you in a direction.

Negative self-talk is poisonous. It will create fictitious stories which can turn into beliefs.

“I am worthless”

“I am weak”

“I am a failure who will never amount to anything”

“I am worthless”

“I hate myself”

I’ve said those to myself hundreds of times. Not once has it ever made me feel good.

To fight back, I run Positive Mental Reps to drown out the negative voice.

If none of these speak to you, make your own. Give it power.

Say it, and say it often.

Replace those bu****it, farce stories with some optimism.

How does this apply to fitness?

Everyone has a voice that tells them to quit, they will never make it.

Sadly, most people listen and respond to that voice.

I breathe confidence into my clients by always showing support, care, and an unwavering belief that they can make it happen for themselves.

Feeling in the s**t pit? Ask me for help, I won’t lend a hand, I’ll jump down there with you and help you climb out.

You see the result, what’s missing is the most important piece; the WORK.

Over the past 75 days, I completed the following 👇🏼

✅ 150 workouts (75 of them outside)
✅ Read 4 books
✅ Meditated for 670 minutes
✅ Eliminated all seed oils, flour, and processed sugar
✅ Ate 150-180g of protein
✅ Zero alcohol
✅ Zero deviation from my eliminated foods

Lot’s of days I slammed the alarm clock at 5am and hit the ground running, only to end the day at 7pm.

I learned a LOT about myself throughout this process (lessons coming soon…)

This would have been 100x more challenging if I did not have support.

THANK YOU to everyone who asked me how the process was going and continued to offer encouragement throughout the past 75 days.

Special shout out to & for doing this with me. I couldn’t have done it with out you by my side ❤️

People think discipline is something out of their reach.

It’s not.

In fact, discipline is 100% in your control.

You don’t need to compare your discipline to anyone else but yourself.

Where do you start? Wake up on time.

If slapping the snooze button 3 times is your first action of the day, you’re starting late.

If you can get your feet on the floor on first sound, you’re starting the day with a disciplined action, which will lead to more discipline within the day.

Start there to practice and improve your discipline. You can apply to your training, diet, mindset, career, relationships, etc…

Get UP and move for the next 5 minutes.

Your body will appreciate it 😊

Stop putting JUNK into your body! Unless you want to be chronically inflamed, have little to no energy, joint pain, and weakness…

If you don’t want that, then pay attention to the foods you at.

It’s especially important if you’re serious about your fitness results.

Last Monday, I felt super s**tty. Despite sleeping well and getting plenty of rest, I was pounding beers and not giving a damn about what I was eating.

The result? Inflammation, tight joints, lower back pain, and weakness. My workout was brutal, I felt off, and took me much longer to recover between sets.

After 10 day’s of being uber strict with my diet (eating 90% carnivore based), this same workout was 10x better.

I squatted 30 more pounds
I hip thrusted 40 more pounds
I finished the last block (Couldn’t complete it on monday)

It’s clear as day, nutrition is IMPORTANT when it comes to your physical output. Fuel your body with the right stuff, avoid the garbage.

Deadlifts can be the BEST (or worst) exercise. What separates the two is HOW you do it.

If you have not been in a gym for a while, go back to the basics and focus on form.

👉🏼 Quality over quantity

Start with a light weight, one that you can safely handle. Kettlebells are a great tool to use for deadlifts.

Men, use a 35-53lb bell

Ladies, use an 18-35lb bell

If you have any questions about how to do this full-body exercise, drop a comment!

Free ride paradise with my brother

This is the sight where Red Bull Rampage takes place. It’s the most intense & treacherous riding I’ve ever done.

There’s no pedaling up a hill, everything is vertical. You need to climb up rocks that are 6-12’ high, then ride spines that are 2-3’ wide with sheer drops on both sides.

I’ve been wanting to ride here for many years. Super stoked I have the skills, confidence, and slight stupidity to ride this area.

Looking into a pool of sweat, feeling my vision blur and hearing fade.

My heart is beating at 165 BPM and I’m sweating bullets.

In 30 seconds, I must perform the same routine that put me into this state.

Physically, my body is pushing to it’s limit.

Mentally, I am fu***ng strong.

This is what it looks like to STRUGGLE during a workout.

1x per week, I purposely push myself into the pain cave. A place many people are afraid of entering.

I know I can stop at any point, but I won’t.

There is a LOT to learn about yourself in the pain cave.

It’s not hard to access. All you need to do is PUSH past the point you’re comfortable with.

The strength you will find is not only physical, but mental.

This was taken during round 13 of a 30 minute AMRAP of 5 chin ups, 10 push ups, 15 squats with a 22lb weighted vest. I purposely did it during the hottest part of the day for an extra dose of struggle. Prepping my mind & body for the full 20 round MURPH on Memorial Day.

Fighting my own fight.

Everyday I wake up, there is a war inside. One that I try to conquer.

Some days, I lose. 100% of the time it is due to giving up, not putting effort into what I WANT.

My enemy is me.

Yesterday, I won and asserted dominance over my weakness.

This photo was taken right before the final round of my workout. I was in a 20-hour fasted state, ran 2 miles, and did 55 pull ups, 110 push ups, and 160 squats with a 22lb weighted vest.

My hearing started wobbling and my vision became fuzzy.

Did I want to quit? F**k yea, after round 3 of 12.

Showing weakness is cool, but do NOT let own you. I dominated my weakness by completing what I set out to do, winning the war inside.

You’re going to lose, but that’s not a reason to give up.

Always push and know that everyday, there is a war to be WON!

No gym, equipment, or special skills necessary for this workout!

Start with an Alternating Shinbox Bridge. Try keeping your torso upright and arms off the floor. If you need assistance, put your hands on the ground during the rotation & hip press.

Go straight into a 1/2 Turkish Get Up. If sit-ups are tough, use your opposite arm as a lever to help you sit up. When bringing your hips up, make sure your finger tips are facing away from you and punch the palm into the floor.

From there, get into a full push-up position for the Beast Groin Step. Drive you hips back, keeping your knees 2-3” off the floor (think about going into a squat position), then drive your body forward will jumping foot to hand. Once you’re in the groin step position, pull your shoulders and push your chest forward.

Last movement, Rotational Lunge! Keep your torso tall and elbows glued to ribcage. There is an element of instability with this move, so take it slow. Do your best to get your knee to touch the floor.

Do all 4 movements for 6-8 reps per side, without rest. Once you complete all 4 moves, take a 2 minute break and go through it again! Complete 3-5 rounds.

Bored of your current workout routine?

Sick of training with a coach who praises you for puking after doing countless burpees?

If you’re putting in the work, but not seeing results, working with a personal trainer can help you make break throughs.

Sometimes, we need someone to assess what we’re currently doing and make minor adjustments.

It’s not about getting on ‘the right’ diet or finding the ‘perfect’ workout routine.

It’s about finding what works for YOU.
