The BEST part of being in private practice for 24 years is that many of my patients have been with me for 19 years or more which is when Isabella was born. She did not leave the hospital after being born AND had only 50% chance to live after heart surgery. A tough journey indeed! Many of you know Isabella has down syndrome and is autistic on the spectrum. This has never stopped her from learning and proving her place. Her favorite question when someone forgets about her is “ What about me??” I love it!!
She is surrounded by many who just lift her up including the wonderful patients I’ve had for years who have seen her grow up in my office. She has thrived and continues to be a role model to her peers. Today my wonderful staff welcomed Bella and taught her new skills and we will continue to teach Isabella since she is a recent graduate. She will happily greet you with her electric smile and brighten the room when you walk. For those who had the pleasure of seeing Isabella working in my office this week I want you to know she went home to proudly to share with the family how she did her part today! Thank you for taking a moment to share a brief conversation with Isabella. You’ll never know how much it means to her.
