Dr. Hoyle is one of California's leading experts and pioneers in the field of Phlebology (the specialty of vein disorders). With over two decades of experience, he was the first physician in Orange County to perform endovenous laser ablation. He was also the first doctor in southern California to perform micro phlebectomy and the first to utilize tumescent anesthesia for vein procedures. He has been an invited lecturer at Chapman University and appeared twice on the TV show, Health Matters.
Dr. Hoyle has served as a consultant at the VA hospital in Long Beach and is an expert reviewer for the Medical Board of California. In 2012 Dr. Hoyle was elected a Fellow of the American College of Phlebology and in 2013 authored two texts for the association - a chapter in the textbook, "Fundamentals of Phlebology" and an instructional document entitled Guidelines for Treatment of Superficial Venous Disease. In 2015 he was invited to speak at a meeting of the Medicare Administrators for 12 states regarding coverage of the Clarivein device for mechanochemical ablation. From 2014 to 2018 he has served as expert advisor to a panel of the American Medical Association in the approval of three new medical devices for the treatment of vein disorders. He is an accomplished lecturer and physician educator for several manufacturers of these and other devices. He has appeared as an expert before committee at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services headquarters in Baltimore Maryland. In 2016 he was selected to instruct doctors and set up the first center for vein treatment on the island of Guam. A Canadian transplant from Toronto, with a medical degree from the University of Western Ontario, Bruce Hoyle has lived and worked in Orange County, California for most of his career.
