October is RSV Awareness Month
RSV is a common respiratory virus that spreads easily through coughs, sneezes, and even by touching contaminated surfaces.
For most children, RSV feels like a mild cold, but for some (especially young infants, premature babies, or those with smaller airways or health conditions), it can lead to bronchiolitis and cause wheezing or breathing difficulties.
Here’s how you can help protect your little ones:
✨ Wash hands often with soap and water
✨ Disinfect frequently touched surfaces (like doorknobs and counters)
✨ Limit close contact, especially during peak RSV season
✨ Keep babies under 2 months away from unnecessary visitors
If family or friends come to visit your newborn, kindly ask them to:
🧴 Wash their hands
😷 Wear a mask if they have any cold symptoms
🚫 Avoid kissing the baby (doctor’s orders!)
