When a 4-year-old patient needed multiple breathing treatments, Megan Baker, respiratory care assistant at Covenant Health in Lubbock, Texas, went above and beyond. Not only did she provide expert care, she also offered patience, comfort and reassurance—turning a scary experience into one filled with compassion and hope.

Parents often tell us it’s these moments of kindness that make all the difference.

We’re grateful for caregivers who bring heart to every treatment. This is what health for a better world looks like. 💙

October 17, the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, reminds us that poverty is the daily reality for millions.

Our Mission calls us to serve all - especially those who are poor and vulnerable. That means working alongside our communities to break down barriers—like access to care, housing, education and opportunity.

Through our community benefit programs, we work to ensure basic health needs are met, remove barriers to care, build community resilience and innovate for the future.

⛰ In Missoula County, 1 in 5 people—that’s 25,000 neighbors—rely on the Missoula Food Bank & Community Center for support.

Through our partnership, Providence Montana helps connect families to food and vital resources — support that makes all the difference.

Like a father of five in Missoula, Mont., who, after suddenly losing his job, found stability through emergency food support and benefit assistance until both parents were able to return to work. 💙

🍽️ On this , we honor the power of partnership, compassion and care in building stronger, healthier communities.

Today marks the celebration of Sisters of St. Joseph Founders Day, commemorating their 375th anniversary.

In 1650, in Le Puy, France, a brave group of women broke away from tradition to serve their community with profound selflessness. They tended to the sick, empowered young women by teaching them valuable skills, and offered unwavering support to the most vulnerable members of society.

Their mission of unified love and compassion endures, reflected in every act of kindness, healing, and service within our ministries, and continues to inspire us at St. Joseph Hospital Orange.

Let us honor their legacy by serving our dear neighbor with courage and love.

💙 Today we celebrate Sisters of St. Joseph Founders Day.

In 1650, in Le Puy, France, a small group of courageous women stepped beyond the walls of tradition to serve their neighbors with self-emptying love. They cared for the sick, taught young women skills for the future and opened their hearts to the most vulnerable.

✨ Their Mission of unifying love and compassion is alive in every act of kindness, healing and service across our ministries.

May we continue to carry forward their legacy by serving our dear neighbors with courage and love.

What an incredible evening at Soirée 2025 hosted by St. Joseph Hospital Foundation at the stunning Balboa Bay Resort. Thanks to the remarkable generosity of our community, we raised over $1 million to support neurological care at St. Joseph Hospital. The impact from this event will be felt in every breakthrough, every recovery, and every second chance. When compassionate care and leading-edge medicine come together, amazing things happen. It started with a lump. At just 37, Renee was healthy and years away from her first routine mammogram. But she trusted her instincts and pushed for answers. That decision saved her life.

The lump was breast cancer. Thanks to early detection and the care of Susan Montgomery, M.D., at Providence Swedish Cancer Institute in Seattle, Wash., Renee’s journey toward healing and hope began. 🩷

St. Joseph Hospital was named an "Ultimate Contributor" by West Coast University -- the award recognizes our partnership and unwavering commitment to nursing education.

Our unique cohort model lets nursing students complete all clinical rotations at St. Joseph, immersing them in our culture and values. The results speak volumes: 7 out of 8 students from this cohort were hired at St Joseph and have just celebrated one full year as registered nurses. Their journey is a testament to the power of mentorship, consistency and community. Thank you to the leaders, preceptors, and students who embraced this vision and brought it to life. Your passion and support have not only shaped careers but have also strengthened the future of compassionate care at SJO.

This award is more than a recognition—it’s a celebration of what’s possible when education and healthcare come together with purpose and heart.

This week, we marked the Table of the King in honor of Blessed Émilie Gamelin, the Foundress of the Sisters of Providence. Émilie dedicated her life to supporting those who were marginalized, sick, or impoverished, often providing them with simple meals like soup and bread.

At St. Joseph, we continued this tradition by offering complimentary soup and bread to everyone served by our leadership team.

Thanks to Facundo Rodriguez Gomez, our skilled cook, and Tom McCance, director of food and nutrition services (first pic), for their excellent work in making this day memorable.

Today we honored the 96th anniversary of St. Joseph Hospital with a special blessing by Chaplain Gina in our main lobby. As Chief Executive Brian Helleland said in a message acknowledging the anniversary earlier this week, “Every anniversary is a reminder of the trust placed in us by generations of patients and families, and of the vision and perseverance of those who came before us.”

To our caregivers and physicians: Thank you for the dedication and compassion you bring every day. Together, we will carry forward the spirit of the Sisters of St. Joseph for the next century and beyond.
