During my travels in India 🇮🇳, I’ve been thinking a lot about how we spend our in-between moments, especially at airports. ✈️
Those stretches of waiting, boarding, and transitioning often feel like lost time. But lately, I’ve been reframing them as intentional pauses, small windows to reconnect with myself, reset my mind, or prepare for what’s ahead.
Here’s how I make the most of my airport time:
🌿 Taking time for myself
Instead of diving straight into emails, I take a few minutes to meditate, read, or journal. It’s a way to quiet my thoughts and ground myself before the next leg of travel.
💻 Purposeful productivity
Once I’m centered, I use that calm energy to prepare for lectures, review upcoming projects, or catch up on messages. I find that working from a grounded state helps me think more clearly and intentionally.
🌸 Mindful moments
I stand, stretch, walk around the terminal, hydrate, and observe the flow of people and places. These little rituals keep me present and remind me that travel isn’t just about the destination…it’s about the moments in between.
The airport has become a metaphor for life itself: there will always be transitions, delays, and waiting. But we can choose how to show up in those spaces, with stress and distraction, or with awareness and purpose.
Every layover becomes a quiet invitation to pause, breathe, and realign.
How do you use your “in-between” time when you travel or transition between busy seasons of work?
