Dr. Yelena was born in Ukraine and grew up in St. Petersburg, Russia. Natural healing was part of the culture and environment in which she was raised in. She studied western medicine and became a medical doctor in Russia, but gravitated toward natural healing and obtained additional training in acupuncture to integrate acupuncture into her medical practice in Russia. She immigrated to the United States in 2000 and instead of becoming a medical doctor; she studied traditional Chinese medicine and became a Florida licensed acupuncture physician. Together with her husband Dr. David Pakula, she opened Vita-Health Acupuncture and Wellness Center in 2005. Dr. David Pakula’s interest in holistic medicine began in mid-life when he witnessed the amazing results that could be achieved with natural medicine without the side effects of conventional medicine. He has a passion for finding and treating the root causes of patients’ health issues using cutting-edge natural medicine, such as ozone therapy, functional medicine, and prolotherapy.
