Foggy glasses with your N95 mask? Try these 3 easy tips to stop the fog!
1. Make sure the mask is sealed over the bridge of your nose! Use tape to seal the leak by taping the mask to the nasal dorsum skin.
2. Use baby shampoo, saliva, or toothpaste to create a film on the eye wear to resist fog!
3. Wear the goggles like bifocals, more forward on the nasal tip.

Face timing with my patients has definitely been a unique experience. People seem more comfortable to express themselves in the comfort of their own home.⠀ ⠀
You'll have the random family member popping their head into the call, asking me how I'm doing, just like an aunt or uncle would do. Every call has a different feel as you are invited into the home of the patient. ⠀⠀
Most of all, people seem "All Smiles" during the call. They seem appreciative, which as a Doctor, is one of the things you yearn most. ⠀⠀
Nothing beats an in person physical exam or seeing some one in person but this has been a close second option. ⠀⠀
Stay safe everyone.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Dr. J’s 5 step C.P.A.P.S. method for using your Nasal Spray correctly! (Read below)
Step 1: Clean the nose
You have a couple options here: Nose blowing, Saline spray, Sinus rinse
Step 2: Prime the Pump
Shake and Prime the Spray. That will get the spray ready to be used effectively.
Step 3: Angle the Spray
Use opposite hand of the nostril you are spraying. First aim towards eye then angle into the head at 30 degrees
Step 4: Pull the check
Now if you have nostril collapse or a deviated septum you may want to employ this option… it will create a straighter path to where the spray needs to go.
Step 5: Spray and (Gentle) Sniff.
If you think of the full sniff at a 100% force, use 25% force
GOOD LUCK!!!!

Lost your Sense of Smell? No harm in trying "Olfactory Training" to get it back!⠀⠀
You need 4 different Essential Oils: Lemon, Rose, Close and Eucalyptus. Get 4 empty glass jars with lids and pour the oil into the jar (the Jar method was used in existing studies).⠀⠀
1. Hold the first jar to your nose, about an inch away. The order of which you smell first does not matter⠀⠀
2. Relax and try to inhale naturally through the nose – sniffing too quickly and deeply is likely to result in you not being able to detect anything. 10 seconds for each smell is all you need.⠀⠀
3. Try this a couple more times, then rest for five minutes⠀⠀
4. Move on to the next smell and repeat as above⠀⠀
5. Stick with it! it may take weeks or longer before detecting anything.⠀⠀
This may not work in some people but it is worth trying. Compared to controls, training patients in both groups presented significantly higher scores of olfactory function as measured by the Sniffin' Sticks test. This increase was measured in 67.8% of post-infectious and 33.2% of post-traumatic patients. Subjective ratings were in accordance with the olfactory test results. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
