Hello April (Early Plant Life.🌱)

As we step into this month of new growth, we're reminded that just as plants need careful tending to thrive, so do our elders and loved ones. This April, we honor the incredible caregivers in our community who nurture, protect, and show up with unwavering dedication.

With Hantavirus prevention in mind and two recent measles cases on the Navajo Nation, protecting our elders means taking action. Cleaning the homestead, checking for mouse droppings, ensuring vaccinations are up to date, and limiting exposure when illness spreads. These are acts of love.

How can we serve our elders best this month?
✨ Offer to help with spring cleaning
✨ Share information about measles and Hantavirus prevention
✨ Check in with a simple phone call or visit
✨ Make sure they have what they need to stay safe and healthy

Let's grow in care and protection this April.

💚 World Kidney Day • March 12, 2026

Kidney disease often develops quietly, which is why awareness and education are so important. Today we’re sharing information to help our community better understand Chronic Kidney Disease.

In this post you'll find:
• Fast facts about CKD
• Prevention tips to help protect kidney health
• Management tips for those living with CKD
• Myth Busters to warn against misinformation

This post was inspired by Dignity Health’s recent Lunch & Learn on CKD Prevention and Management. Education and shared knowledge can help protect our families, our elders, and future generations.🙏🏽🪶

Caregiving is often called “invisible work,” yet it is the very foundation of our families, communities, and local economies. 🧑🏽‍⚕️👩🏾‍⚕️🏠

This International Women’s Day, we must acknowledge that the majority of this deep, meaningful work falls on the shoulders of women. Whether it’s raising the next generation, caring for aging parents, or supporting a partner through illness. Women are the backbone of care.

To every woman balancing a career, a household, and the heavy weight of caring for a loved one: Your work matters. Your mental load is valid. And you deserve support and we are here to help.

This weekend there’s so much happening around the Valley, and we’re excited to be part of it! 🌵☀️

Ahehee' Shidine'e Homecare will be set up at the market sharing information and resources for those interested in learning more about in-home non-medical caregiving. If you or a loved one could benefit from extra support at home, we’d love to connect and answer any questions.

It’s a great time to stop by, say hello, and learn more about the services available in our community. Plus, we’re expecting beautiful weather—perfect for getting out and supporting local vendors and organizations.

We look forward to visiting with everyone and connecting with families in the community. See you there! 😊

To every caregiver here today earning your 6 continuing education units: Thank you. Thank you for showing up. Thank for doing the hard work of learning, growing, and caring for yourselves so you can continue caring for others. You are seen. You are valued. You are not alone. 💙
