I’m sure it’s been said time and time again, but on my journey as a priest, this has been the one theme I’ve seen play out over and over again:
Watching people move through life trying to attain things—goals, plans, relationships—you name it, all to feed the ego.
We’ve all been there.
We’ve all done it.
Those moments you look back on and think, “That was so stupid. Why did I even…?”
It’s funny how hard it is for us to truly see ourselves.
What’s crazy is—other people can see you. 😂
Just because you can’t see you doesn’t mean we can’t.
All the things we do to fill our voids become very obvious to the trained eye—especially to us in the spirit. It’s like the blinders are off.
We can often see how the whole situation will play out before it even happens. I’ve watched it unfold. I’ve studied it from multiple angles. I’ve even experimented with it.
Sometimes I’ll drop hints—a verse, an Odu, a video—around people close to me to see if they can connect the dots to their own life.
Other times, I’ll make a direct call, say what I see, and offer suggestions to help steer the situation.
But one thing is for sure: if it’s in your destiny, and you need to go through it… you’re going to take that ride.
It’s like the consciousness isn’t ready to hear the truth—even when it’s staring you dead in the face.
If we’re not ready, we’re not ready.
You can get a whole reading telling you exactly what to do… and still do the exact opposite.
It’s almost impossible to pull ourselves out of that comfortable space of control.
It’s like, “As long as I’m driving, I don’t care if I’m driving straight into a wall.” 😂
It’s amazing to watch an Odu unfold exactly as it was spoken.
And the person will literally turn around afterward and say,
“Damn, how did I end up in the exact position I was warned about?”
We’re conscious… but unconscious.
We’ve grown so deeply comfortable with being who we think we are.
And because of our traumas and past experiences, we don’t trust anyone but ourselves—not even God. Not even Odu.
Odu will read someone through and through, and they’ll still say,
“That’s not about me.”
YES.
It’s about YOU. 😂
