Medicare/Medicaid approved. With our Palliative Care Program we work with patients regardless of ability to pay. Hope through Healing. Desert Valley Hospice and Palliative Care serves Arizona’s Maricopa county. Founded and directed by Patrick Sciara, MD, BCIM, we are a Medicare/Medicaid-approved, ACHC-accredited home hospice provider. In addition to helping patients with Medicare and Medicaid, through our Palliative Care Program, we work with patients regardless of insurance, ability to pay, or eligibility criteria. Our services work to improve quality of life during a very important time of life. We support both our patients and their family through advanced terminal illnesses. Always Caring. Always Here. We accept referrals every day of the year, 24 hours per day. Immediate response to referrals is available. Our nurses remain on call for patients and their families at all times. A Place for Caring Professionals. Our patients and their families receive coordinated care from a team of professionals according to each patient’s needs and preferences. Our team includes:

• Certified Nursing Assistants
• Hospice Chaplain
• Hospice Volunteers
• Bereavement Coordinator
• Palliative Care Coordinator
• Physical Therapy
• Speech Therapy
• Occupational Therapy

Medicare Pays 100%. When patients have Medicare, we accept that Medicare payment as 100% payment for covered services with no co-pay, deductible, or other out-of-pocket expenses for patients. This covers the services of home-visiting clinicians, all medications related to the hospice diagnosis, related medical equipment, and related medical supplies. Let’s Talk. 💜 Yesterday, our amazing hospice consultant Molly and her sweet therapy dog Minnie made the rounds to several nursing care homes, spreading love and comfort wherever they went.
Pet therapy is more than just a visit — it’s a gift. 🐶✨ The gentle presence of a therapy dog can ease anxiety, lift spirits, and melt away feelings of loneliness. It brings moments of calm, joy, and even laughter, creating a sense of connection and normalcy during life’s most tender moments.
