Spinal imbalances that lead to plantar fasciitis:
1. Lumbar spine nerve root irritation (especially L5 or S1):
•Nerve compression (from a herniated disc or spinal stenosis) can alter motor control or muscle activation in the legs and feet.
•This can cause abnormal walking mechanics, leading to increased stress on the plantar fascia.
2. Pelvic tilt or sacroiliac (SI) joint dysfunction:
•Anterior or posterior pelvic tilt can change the weight distribution across the legs and feet.
•This imbalance may cause over-pronation or supination during walking, straining the plantar fascia.
3. Functional leg length discrepancy (caused by spinal misalignment):
•When the pelvis or spine is misaligned, one leg may functionally appear shorter.
•This uneven gait pattern increases repetitive stress on one foot.
4. Poor posture and compensatory movement patterns:
•Kyphosis, scoliosis, or general postural dysfunction can lead to compensations in the lower limbs.
•These compensations may overload the plantar fascia over time.
