I work in scaffolding, which means long hours, heavy lifting, and tight, awkward spaces—especially challenging for a big guy like me. Every year we have a great opportunity to reflect and ask forgiveness from those we hurt, including ourselves. Here are some reflections on connection:

Humans are a link between the ages, the past and present heading to the future. Memory and expectations are our guides. Recollections become spiritual, for we sanctify the present by remembering the past. ”The essence of faith is memory. To believe is to remember.”

Our desire, either through intellect or heart becomes our expectation. When we act, passively through in action or actively, we manifest the future. When heart and mind and action come together to synchronize energy with hope in our heart and visualize in our head a belief in an outcome that supports our favor. We must take action or we end up living in fantasy, the precursor to regret.

An example of applying the above: I try to relate this to sports where a person trains, both physically and mentally, and gives his or her all for the one chance that may come and opportunity to compete and experience. Yet, true love is ageless and to be experienced first. The present, then becomes timeless, part of ageless energy. Whether you love physically, or store it in your heart, with the memory of how you developed the love, it just exist. Now, let it go and watch the memory carries the expectation to you. Then move forward towards incoming time and focus on service to others.

Got to visit my old ship, the USS Midway. They've updated with more sections, including the C2 I flew off of, having been launched by catapult. The flight crew told us 5 times what to do if the plan crashed in the ocean. Since they were wearing parachutes, we listened.

Yesterday I sent some prayers to G-d and felt like the mechanism of action was answered, though the final outcome will be in distant future. I went swimming at the gym this morning. I saw a spider on the floating lane separator. It was stuck, as the final foot to the edge of the pool was submerged, creating a barrier. I remember watching online videos of people helping various animals including a snake that went to someone’s house asking for help for his/her mate. I decided to help the spider, a living creature that serves a purpose of keeping some of the annoying insects away form me. I picked up my key chain with a flat surface. The spider instinctually and insectually climbed on board the key chain and calmly held on as I moved it to the concrete. The spider took off and made it to the wall. As a naturopathic doctor I try to help save people and improve their health, including protecting people form both themselves, and the drug cartels. This time I helped a spider.
