Arcadia Counseling Center Arcadia Counseling Center provides counseling for children, adolescents, adults, families & couples f

Arcadia Counseling Center (ACC) provides counseling for a wide range of mental health issues and serves children, adolescents, adults, families and couples. Our mission is to empower our clients by mobilizing their strengths and enhancing their coping skills, in order that they might live more fulfilling and productive lives. ACC was founded in 2005 by Laura Greenwood and a fellow colleague. After years of networking and word-of-mouth, ACC became a thriving, well-known private practice serving the needs of many in Metro Phoenix. In 2012, Laura reconnected with long-time Arizona native and clinical social worker, Julie Karnes, to form a new partnership at ACC. Together, Laura and Julie have established strong, professional relationships with their clients, as well as with the medical, psychiatric, social service, and educational community across the Valley. ACC recently moved into a larger, cozier office space within the same building to accommodate its expanding practice and provide clients with attractive options such as group therapy. ACC has since welcomed additional licensed, independent clinicians - Crystal Contreras, Iliana Tintos, and Lisa Kubie.

HIRING INDEPENDENTLY LICENSED CLINICIAN!
Arcadia Counseling Center (ACC) is looking to hire an independently licensed therapist to help meet our client demand. The ideal candidate is an individual who is seeking a full-time opportunity to apply their clinical skills and passion under a well-established private practice in the heart of Arcadia.
Although ACC serves a wide range of demographics, the candidate would focus their skills primarily on children and families. The clinician would be responsible for assessments, diagnostics, treatment planning, evidence-based treatment, relevant therapeutic interventions, discharge planning, professional collaboration and maintaining clinical documentation according to board standards.
We are seeking a candidate who can ultimately commit to managing a minimum of 26 client sessions per week. The candidate should be available for both in-office and telehealth sessions.

How can nature benefit my mental health? 🌱

Spending time in green space or bringing nature into your every day life can benefit both your mental and physical wellbeing. For example, doing things like growing food or flowers, exercising outdoors or being around animals can have lots of positive effects such as:

• improve your mood
• reduce feelings of stress or anger
• help you take time out and feel more relaxed
• improve your physical health
• improve your confidence and self-esteem
• help you be more active
• help you make new connections
• provide peer support

In light of Mental Health Awareness Month and ongoing COVID-19 related challenges, Arcadia Counseling Center wants to bring light to the rising cases of domestic violence and abuse happening in our community. If you or someone you know is at risk for domestic violence or abuse, please reach out to a mental health professional, law enforcement or crisis service line such as Domestic Violence Centralized Screening (480) 890-3039 or National Domestic Violence Hotline 1-800-799-7233.

In addition, please make sure that children are not being overlooked. You may be a child’s only advocate at the time you report the possibility of abuse or neglect to the AZ Child Abuse Hoteline 1 (888) 767-2445 or Childhelp National Child Abuse Hotline 1 (800) 422-4453.

"Any intentional harm or mistreatment to a child under 18 years old is considered child abuse. Child abuse takes many forms, which often occur at the same time."

"In many cases, child abuse is done by someone the child knows and trusts — often a parent or other relative. If you suspect child abuse, report the abuse to the proper authorities."

You may also contact Arcadia Counseling Center to schedule an appointment with a licensed psychotherapist (602) 218-6901 or send an email to office@arcadiacousnelingcenter.com

Child abuse includes physical, sexual, emotional and medical abuse, as well as neglect. Learn about signs, risk factors, how to get help, and prevention.
