After 14 years of specializing in eating disorder treatment, we are excited to expand our services by launching one of the only PHPs exclusively for adolescents in the state of Arizona. This program provides another level of care to patients and families by offering the structure of in-patient treatment during the day while allowing patients to spend evenings at home. Please call our office with questions about coverage/fee schedule.

Here’s what parents are saying about Doorways this week…

“I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate you and Doorways. I love that you started Doorways to help this age group. When I looked for services for (my daughter) in January 2019 it was tough! I am so happy I found Doorways and appreciate all the help you have given both my daughters. You have been a lifesaver, literally. Anyway, I am sure you hear all the negatives and wanted to make sure you heard the positive also. Again, Thank you for all you do! -A grateful Mom”

Meet our newest provider, Dr David Tanis!
David received his Doctoral degree from the University of Arizona as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. He has an extensive background in alcohol and opioid addiction treatment, as well as years’ experience providing care to those with eating disorders. David has worked in both inpatient and outpatient environments and loves the work that he does with adolescents and young adults. He looks forward to working with you or your child to help address any mood, behavioral, trauma, addiction, or eating disorder concerns, working as a team with his patients and their families to help them achieve a more meaningful life. In his time away from work, David enjoys cooking, trips to the beach with his wife, hiking, and fishing.

The Substance Use Disorder IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program) at Doorways is a substance abuse program for youth ages 13-17 who are struggling with drug or alcohol abuse.

SUD IOP may be recommended as teen drug treatment for those who do not need a medically-supervised detox. IOP group therapy can also enable teens in recovery to continue outpatient drug rehab following their successful detox, on a part-time, yet intensive, schedule, designed to accommodate school and family life.

In the Substance Use Disorder Intensive Outpatient Program, individuals receive teenage drug abuse treatment primarily through group therapy. Unlike the typical teenage drug treatment center, our groups are small and generally do not exceed 10 people, allowing for a safe and supportive environment for youth treatment.
