🛑By the time you finish reading this post, someone somewhere in the United States will have been strangled, beaten, or bludgeoned by an intimate partner. But here's the part rarely talked about: leaving takes a lot of courage, and it doesn't end the pain; it often amplifies it.

For some, it could even mean the end of their lives. For others, it marks the beginning of their lifelong struggle with trauma: nightmares that rob them of restful sleep, intrusive thoughts that plague their subconscious, and flashbacks that chip away at what little sanity they have left.

This National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, let’s confront this horrifying reality that countless people, especially women, endure every single day. Let’s stand with survivors and extend a lifeline to those still trapped, helping them find their way out before the situation reaches the point of no return.

Here at My Buoyant Health, we offer more than just mental health care but also a safe haven—a compassionate space where victims and survivors can express themselves without the fear of being brutalized or degraded. Our mental health experts work closely with patients to help them discover newfound strength to rebuild their lives and reclaim the identities they’ve been stripped of.

Studies show that bisexuals are more likely to face mental health problems than their heterosexual and homosexual counterparts—but less likely to seek help.

If you’re bisexual and constantly ostracized or feeling like you have to shrink to fit in society’s rigid expectations of identity, here’s what you need to know: you are beautiful as you are, you matter, and you don’t need to hide parts of yourself just to be accepted.

If you’re navigating mental health challenges, turn to us here at My Buoyant Health. We offer compassionate, inclusive, gender-affirming care—designed to meet you where you are, honor who you are, and empower you to come out and live your truth fully and unapologetically.

âś…Take a break.

🧠 Su***de doesn’t always scream for attention. Sometimes, the signs are subtle and thus often overlooked or misread.

Here are 5 warning signs that someone may be thinking about su***de:
- Withdrawing from friends, family, or social activities.
- Expressing feelings of hopelessness or being “trapped.”
- Talking about being a burden to others.
- Exhibiting dramatic mood changes—especially sudden calm after deep sadness.
- Giving away treasured belongings or making final arrangements.

If you recognize these signs in someone, don’t ignore them. Stay with them, and remove any means that could be used for self-harm, including medications, sharp objects, or fi****ms. Gently encourage the person to seek professional mental health support.

📞 If they’re in immediate danger of harming themself, call or text the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline at 988. Trained counselors are available 24/7, free and confidential. Your presence and quick action could save a life.

Today, we remember not just who and what were lost—but who we’ve become.
A nation wounded, but not broken.
People grieving, but standing together.

Let’s honor this day by choosing compassion and living by the resilience and courage that rose from the ashes.
