The rain 🌧️ rolled in, and with it came a reminder that storms don’t always need to dampen our spirit. Sometimes the best umbrella 🌂 isn’t the one that folds neatly into your hand—it’s the one that shows up in unexpected ways.

With laughter in her eyes and joy on her face, a simple plastic covering became her “different kind of umbrella.” Not fancy, not planned, but perfectly enough to keep the drops at bay. In that moment, it wasn’t about staying dry—it was about embracing the season, the weather, and the memories being made.♥️

The storm may have brought clouds, but her smile reminded us that sunshine can live right under the cover of the rain. ☔✨

🌟 Celebrating Our Dining Services Team 🌟

This week we paused to celebrate the heart of hospitality on our campus—our Dining Services team—during Healthcare Food Service Workers Week.

Every day, this team does so much more than serve meals. They bring joy, comfort, and a sense of home to our residents. From the warm smiles at the table to the extra care shown behind the scenes, their dedication is felt in every dining experience.

We marked the week with small tokens of appreciation, but more importantly, with gratitude. Seeing their smiles as they received these treats reminded us that recognition matters—and that their hard work truly makes a difference.

This morning in the Prayer 🎚️Garden, Dalila led our residents in chair 🪑 exercises beneath the shade of the trees and the sound of running water by the Koi pond 🐟.
The setting couldn’t have been more peaceful—bright flowers, fresh air, and the gentle encouragement of movement together.
With arms stretched high and laughter shared, the exercise was more than stretching muscles—it was a moment of connection, health, and joy.
The Prayer Garden offered the perfect backdrop, reminding us that caring for body and spirit go hand in hand.

⏮️ The weather? Absolutely perfect—crisp early morning, clear, and full of sunshine.
⏮️ The people? Even better (if that’s possible)! Residents, families, and friends filled our campus with laughter and warmth.

Every October, many neighborhoods embrace a playful tradition known as “Boo’ing” (or sometimes “Boozed,” for the grown-ups!).
It’s a lighthearted way to spread seasonal cheer, build connections, and create a sense of community spirit.

“Being Booed” 👻

When someone is booed, a neighbor secretly leaves a small bundle of Halloween-themed goodies at their door. The package often includes:
• Candy, snacks, or small gifts 🎃
• A Halloween note or poem explaining the tradition
• A sign for the front window or door (“We’ve Been Booed!”)

The idea is that once you’ve been booed, you pass it on—preparing a treat for another household in the neighborhood. It becomes a chain of kindness and festivity that sweeps through the community.

“Being Boozed”👻

For adults, there’s a playful twist called “Boozed.” Instead of candy, the surprise may include:
• A bottle of wine, beer, or festive cocktail mix 🍷🍺
• Seasonal snacks or glasses to enjoy together

A Slice of Joy in the Rain ☔️ 🍕♥️

At Fellowship Square Phoenix, joy often shows up in the most unexpected ways—even in the middle of a rainy afternoon.

As the clouds opened and the rain began to fall, one of our team members dressed in a playful pizza-slice costume grabbed a large umbrella and walked alongside a resident across the wet sidewalks. Together, they laughed, stayed dry, and turned what could have been an inconvenient storm into a memory filled with warmth and connection.

These are the moments that matter most: when laughter replaces gloom, when kindness shows up in simple gestures, and when residents feel the love of community wrapped around them like a shield from the rain.

Engagement is not always about planned activities or grand events—it’s about presence, creativity, and companionship. Sometimes it’s a pizza costume, sometimes it’s an umbrella, but always, it’s the heart behind it that makes the difference.

At Fellowship Square Phoenix, we believe resident experiences should be filled with joy, belonging, and even a little silliness. Because every day is better when we walk together.

On a very wet Friday, we wrapped up our amazing Resident Appreciation Week! Freedom Friday was represented with red, white and blue ❤️🤍💙 and the rain did not deter our resilient residents. We had a packed house while they enjoyed a ”We Love You to Pizzas” party🍕❤️
