Cathy shared that every Christmas, as she prepared to welcome family, this recipe brought back memories of her own childhood and the traditions at the heart of her family. She reflected that, of all the echoes of her mother that remain in those holiday rituals, her pea salad is the one she returns to again and again. For Cathy, making it each holiday is a small but meaningful act, a bridge of love from her past to her present, and on to the generations still to come.
