We’ll be highlighting one of the powerful, hands-on skills Tia teaches in the field: midwifery. Members of our team will be traveling from Mexico to Phoenix to share how community health workers are trained to support safe pregnancies, deliveries, and maternal care where access to healthcare is limited.

During the event, you’ll be able to watch live demonstrations, ask questions, and see these techniques up close. It’s an interactive, welcoming way to learn more about the work we do and the impact it creates.

For two decades, Tia Foundation has shown what’s possible when healthcare is treated as a right, not a privilege. From rural villages to growing communities, Tia’s sustainable, community-led model has empowered local health workers, strengthened families, and created lasting access to care where it’s needed most.

This milestone represents more than numbers. It represents trust built over time, knowledge passed forward, and communities equipped to care for one another long after each brigade ends. The impact continues because the foundation is built to last.

As Tia celebrates 20 years of service and over 1 million individuals reached, this video stands as a tribute to the people, the partners, and the purpose that make the mission possible.

After three years of dedicated service, Austin Reed is entering the final month of his role as Program & Marketing Director at Tia Foundation. While he will remain closely connected to Tia and its mission, Austin will be fully dedicating his time to MTN Media, his media production company. This film is his final creative tribute to the foundation, the communities, and the work that has shaped him deeply.

Imagine your family is expecting their fourth child. You live hours from the nearest hospital; there is no way you will get there in time. If there are complications, the lives of both mother and baby are at high risk! The day a baby is born should be a happy day, so .Midwifery is one of the cornerstones of our community health worker (CHW) training course. It is super cool, so come check it out on February 15th and see a demo of how we train our Promotoras, using state of the art birthing mannequins. Breach, babies, cord wrap, twins, and other complications are all covered in our course.
