Our lips dance
Tracing your lips with my tongue
Ever so slightly
Tongue tip
Trips in the folds
Of your mouth
My mouth waters for the flavor of
Your essence
Time stands and never falls
Nothing passes us
The universe just surrounds us
The bliss of love is here between us
And felt in every breath
Of this kiss ......

A Daughter's Love

Woven into the fiber of my existence is the fire of his spirit
I am built most unique because of it
Because of his crazy ways and thoughts
I am built to stand
Tall, strong, resilient, immaculately bright, melanated,
regal, triumphant
First memories are what make me smile
It is only now that I see how rare and beautiful those times were
A man and his daughter
A man for his daughter
Making the sacrifices
Standing strong through it all
Without a break
Larger than life
That's how I saw him as a child
Hanging on his every word
I found him to be magical
Sitting on the floor with me blowing up inflatable doll house furniture
Silly Daddy......you are the best...I never want that laughter to end
Next to him I felt invincible
And laughed at every zinger and punchline
He is so funny
Except when he is making fun of me
He could stand on my last nerve
And most of my life I was so delusional about why we would fight
They would tell me it's because we are so much alike
I would scoff and find it ridiculous
Except people who have know me a decade or longer
Marveled in the exactness of our common mannerisms and energies
Right down to my business brain
To the way I can drive people absolutely insane by telling them the truth like it is
I wish I could bottle this feeling of love for him
The connection to this warmth is simply joyous
If only I could bottle and keep it with me forever
We don't have forever
So I run under the sun in a desert to get to a space and place
where no matter what time we have we at least have it together
So we can flock like the birds of a feather we are
However many evolutions around the son we have left
I cherish each
I honor him
Now not later
Because I know tomorrow is not guaranteed
Because I know one day my soul may know sorrow
Because one day a hole may burn into my heart
Where he lived
Yeah I want to bottle the love and connection I have with my father
So he can exist with me

About Therapists

Some of us are born into our purpose
We did not seek it
It slapped us upside our heads before we even knew our letters properly

Our vision of our future was clear before we touched crayon boxes in kindergarten

People gravitate to us to discuss, process, understand, relieve, and
Elevate their mind sets and spirit
We help the unheard
The unseen
The individuals marked by silent screams
Trauma informed
Cognitive behavioral
Solutions focused
No hocus-pocus
Just pushing an agenda of self love
Self care
Living a life without fear
Being bare as you dare
In a world where judgement is everywhere
We hold beacons of light
To help many find insight
And because we stand in this purpose
To guide the healing of hearts and minds
We revel in the beauty of the strength in human spirit
We are the facilitators of recovery
Maybe to you it's just therapy
But for us this is how we breathe

The one about grief

Is it a blessing that I never can say goodbye?

That the light of your smile still lives in my heart?

I wonder
I worry
If it fades
Does my heart fade with it?

If ever I am struggling to remember the sound of your laughter does the sound of the world fade with it?

Still trying to figure out this life without you in it
I don't think I have succeeded
I have only silenced my tears
Swallowed my fears each day
I continue
To face this world
Without you is a day I am not sure should exist
I don't know how to handle this level
Of missing
This level of wishing
This level of hoping you are out there somewhere and you see me
Can you see me?
I'm doing it love
All the things we said I could do
I'm doing it
And imagining your smile
Hearing laughter
Wishing you were here to enjoy
The happily ever after

The one about MS

Awaken each day with uncertainty
No that it will never leave you
Yet sit with the fact others will always forget this
But you were fine this morning they say
Never understanding that each day
The cops and robbers can come
No they don't use a gun
But they do steal
Steal my breath
Steal my legs
Steal my hands
Crush my voice
Sn**ch my sight
Push me down into a pool of pain
Why can't anyone see the miracle?
What miracle?
The miracle that I have not gone insane
The miracle that straight jackets
and padded rooms
Are not my current resident
That I still stand
And walk
And talk
And swallow
Despite Lola and her minions trying to make me hollow
This hole in my heart
It is not for the weak
It is not sympathy I seek
Just a little more understanding
Awareness of my plight
So when you ask how I am doing
Don't be surprised
If unicorns, rainbows, and fairy dust are not the response
Sometimes I drive this vehicle of life
And sometimes
MS car jacks me
And takes me on a wild ride.

About Last Week

Sunday was full of optimism, hope, planning, and preparation

Ready, set, going into Monday with a bang

Tuesday was riddled with last minute changes

Wednesday was the highest hump hurdle to clear

Thursday's business had me hopping and jumping

Friday was filled with a calm and light at the end of the tunnel

Saturday went kicking and screaming all the way to 11:59pm

And yet once again the midnight hour of Sunday arrives

A true week of terror has come to a great end

Honesty

Trust me
Believe me when I say
I am telling you the truth
Statements often said when someone is actually not being honest
Their truth
Your truth
The truth
Should it really be different among different people?
Does perspective change facts?
Do facts matter?
Do lies matter if the intention wasn't there?
Do the ones who have been hurt by lies ever get to live without fear
That yet another
And another
Maybe even a lover or mother
Lies an incredible lie that they believe
Only later to find out they have been deceived
Wishing they could forever just receive the truth
Honesty should not have to be earned
It should not be a luxury
You should not yearn for it
We should not have to search for it
It should be pure, organic, and ever present
Yet here we are day after day
Wishing and hoping
For just a little
