Dear Patients and Friends,
I hope this letter finds you all doing well.
I am proud and excited to share several important announcements regarding Agave Chiropractic.
Some of you already know that my lease at our current location could not be renewed, as the building’s ownership will be moving into this space. As a result, I began exploring a new location for the practice. Many of you also know that I have been planning my retirement for some time, with the goal of doing so after my daughter graduates from the University of Arizona. Over the past months, many of you expressed concern—rightfully so—about how these changes could happen without first finding the right chiropractor to continue your care.
As the saying goes, timing is everything—and in this case, everything has aligned.
I am happy to announce that Agave Chiropractic will be relocating, I will be retiring, and a wonderful new chiropractor will be taking over the practice—all as part of one thoughtfully planned transition.
New Location
We have secured a new location for Agave Chiropractic, approximately one mile from our current office, returning us to Indian School Road (no, not the former location at 3818 E. Indian School). More details will be shared in the coming weeks.
My Retirement
I am incredibly proud to say that I have served this community since 1996—nearly 30 years. There have been very few days when I didn’t come to work smiling and ready to make a difference in your lives through conservative chiropractic care. At this stage of life, my wife and I are ready for a new chapter—one that allows for more time with family, travel, and personal health.
Introducing Your New Chiropractor
I am honored to pass the torch to Dr. Zach Erickson. Our paths crossed several months ago, and through getting to know him—his character, his values, and his clinical skills—I knew he was the right fit. Quite honestly, he reminds me of a younger version of myself. You are truly in excellent hands for many years to come.
Transition Timeline
• December: No changes. I will continue seeing patients on my normal schedule (with early closures on New Year’s Eve).
• January: Dr. Erickson will be in the clinic with me, shadowing patient visits, learning our systems, and being introduced to all of you. New patients will begin care with Dr. Erickson under my supervision.
• February: We move to the new Indian School Road location. I will continue in the clinic at reduced hours through February and March.
• April: After 30 fulfilling years in practice, I will officially retire. On April 21st, my wife and I will head to Spain to visit our daughter while she studies in Barcelona—followed by time with family, time in Puerto Vallarta, and (finally!) my long-promised mid-afternoon naps.
I am deeply grateful to have been your chiropractor, your friend, and often a listening ear. Many of you I’ve known since the mid-1990s. We’ve shared life’s highs and lows together, and I will carry those memories with me always.
I chose chiropractic for one simple reason: the powerful connection between the spine and the nervous system. Removing interference allows the body to heal and function at its best. I will continue to get my own spine checked and adjusted for as long as I am able—and I strongly encourage you to do the same. You are in excellent hands with Dr. Erickson.
More details will be coming soon.
Wishing you all a very Happy Holiday season.
Respectfully,
Paul van Berkel, D.C.
