Our lymphatic system is part of our immune system and a complex network of tissues and vessels that help to protect our bodies from infection and disease. It is our bodies filtration system that helps regulate fluids in the body and keep them in balance.

Our lymph nodes are vital in this process and sometimes removal of just one lymph node can cause a disruption in the whole system. Did you know that once your lymphatic system has been impaired you are at a LIFETIME risk of developing lymphedema?

This series focuses on the upper extremities and this is what you will take away with you:

- basic overview of how the lymphatic system works
- why the breath, movement and self-massage are so important to lymphatic health
- what happens when our lymphatic system is impaired and how to self-assess
- what modifications to make in self-massage and self-care when there is an impairment
- breath, movement and self-massage routines to practice at home

This class is of vital importance to anyone who has had ANY radiation, lymph node biopsy or surgery in any primary lymph node cluster in the upper extremities, (neck or armpit). It’s for breast cancer survivors, those with mild, well-managed lymphedema, and those who want to learn more about their lymphatic system for preventative self-care!

Today was the Grand Opening of the where and .shaver have created a beautiful space for trauma informed care. I’ve taken special oncology and trauma recovery training and expanded my practice to be able to serve oncology patients and their families! I’m so thankful to have a new home for my office here!

Today is also World Cancer day. Saying a little prayer for those who received a diagnosis today, those in treatment, in survivorship and especially those in end of life care due to this horrible disease.

Remembering my sister and friends I’ve known who were taken suddenly and much too young. Praying for peace beyond His understanding and comfort to all the loved ones who are grieving from loss. 🙏🏻

I am so grateful to be a survivor!!

Live Well Training Center is a heart-centered, trauma-informed integrative care facility in the heart of Arrowhead in Glendale. We currently have 6 providers delivering holistic care covering all areas of life and well-being. A few more providers will be added soon. (The website is in development.)

The road to recovery can be hard!

Use the breath as your foundation and one second will turn into a minute, then an hour and then a day! ⌛️

When you are faced with hard things place your left hand on your heart and your right hand on your belly. Feel yourself breathing in. Feel yourself breathing out. 🧘🏼‍♀️

Continue being in the now with your breath, give it thanks for breathing you when you forget it’s there.

Know that you are worthy and deserving of moving forward and making the whole beautiful. 🦋
