Why You Need To Know Statins Can Increase Diabetes Risk

Recipe of the Week: Yogurt and Fresh Fruit Cereal Tarts
PREP TIME: 10 MINUTES
TOTAL TIME: 20 MINUTES
SERVING SIZE: 8 TARTS
Start your mornings off right with this delightfully appealing, easy-to-make breakfast treat. If you are craving something delicious that will satisfy your sweet tooth but won’t pack on the pounds, these healthy cereal fruit tarts are bound to satisfy your craving. Enjoy!
INGREDIENTS:
5 and ¼ cups cornflakes cereal
1 cup pecans
5 tablespoons melted unsalted butter
5 tablespoons maple syrup
16 ounces vanilla yogurt
16 ounces plain yogurt
3 cups fresh fruits – We chose strawberries, blueberries, and blackberries
TART SHELL DIRECTIONS:
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
Prepare eight 4-inch circular tart pans with removable bottoms on a baking sheet and set aside.
Place cornflakes and pecans into a food processor and pulse until both are completely combined.
Gently add in the melted butter and maple syrup, pulse another 10 times.
Divide the mixture evenly into the pans and gently press the sides and bottoms to form sturdy tart shells.
Bake for 10-12 minutes then let cool.
TART ASSEMBLY:
Mix the plain and vanilla yogurt together.
Evenly disperse about 4 tablespoons of the yogurt mixture into the tart shells and top with fresh fruits. Serve immediately.
