Breast health is for everyone no matter your gender or body. 💗

Screening guidelines can look different for everyone but one thing stays the same: early detection and awareness save lives.

Whether it’s a mammogram, chest exam, or simply knowing what’s normal for your body, talking with your provider about what’s right for you makes all the difference.

✨ Take care of your chest. Know your body. Ask questions.

🌈Happy International Pronouns Day! Using someone’s correct pronouns is more than a sign of respect, it’s a step toward equity. When medical providers use affirming pronouns, patients are more likely to return for care and experience improved overall health outcomes. At Prisma, we’re committed to creating a space where everyone feels seen, affirmed, and cared for.

In observance and celebration of Indigenous Peoples' Day, Prisma will be closed tomorrow, Monday, October 13. We will resume regular business hours on Tuesday, October 14.

On we honor and celebrate the rich cultures, traditions, and histories of Indigenous peoples. It's a day to recognize their contributions, resilience, and deep connection to the land. Let's continue to uplift voices, learn from their wisdom, and support efforts toward justice and equity.

Today on World Mental Health Day, we’re highlighting tools for everyday mental wellness with insight from our Prisma therapists.

🧠 Start small, start today: One accessible practice is learning to recognize cognitive distortions, those sneaky thought patterns that distort how we see ourselves or the world.
Examples include:
• All-or-nothing thinking (“I failed once, so I’ll always fail.”)
• Magnification/minimization (blowing things way out of proportion or shrinking them down to nothing).
• Personalization (taking on blame for everything).

When we notice these patterns, we open the door to more self-compassion, motivation, and emotional balance. A fun tip? Post a reminder list somewhere you’ll see it every day—like the fridge so you can start catching distortions in action.

💬 A message for today: “A tough emotion often hides a valuable message. Don’t bypass your feelings, face them. You’re more resilient than you think.”

💚 Remember, caring for your mental health is a sign of strength. And you don’t have to do it alone. We’re here for you.

👨‍⚕️What’s a PA?
Physician Assistants are nationally certified medical professionals who diagnose, treat, prescribe, and care for patients across specialties. They bring accessible, patient-centered healthcare to communities everywhere.

Tanner brings deep experience in primary care, mental health, HIV management, and gender-affirming care all grounded in Prisma’s promise of inclusive healthcare for all.

Here’s what Tanner shared:
💬 “My favorite part about being a PA is seeing patients! I love educating people about what they can do to improve their overall health.”

Join us in celebrating Tanner this and the compassionate, affirming care he brings to our community. 💜

Health is more than a doctor’s visit; it’s also the remedies and traditions passed down through generations.

Maybe it’s VapoRub when you’re under the weather or hierbabuena tea for a stomach ache. Maybe it’s prayer, rituals, or abuelita-style recipes for wellness.

At Prisma, we invite you to bring your whole self into care, including your cultural practices. Because affirming health means honoring both ancestral wisdom and modern medicine. 💜

Flu season is here. The best way to prevent influenza (flu) is to get the vaccine each year. Many health insurance plans cover flu shots as part of a wellness program. Check with your provider to see if you're covered. Flu vaccines are available at area pharmacies, community health clinics, and many healthcare providers.

Protect yourself, protect your community. Get your flu shot and join the 💪💉
