With the uncertainty around SNAP benefits, many in our community are facing new challenges, but no one has to face them alone. Across Arizona, food banks and community partners are stepping up to make sure everyone has access to healthy meals. Together, we can look out for one another and keep our community nourished.

For many people in our community, SNAP (the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) is the difference between skipping meals and staying healthy enough to manage work, school, and care.

LGBTQ+ neighbors are hit harder. National data show 18% of LGBT adults experienced food insecurity in the past year (vs. 14% of non-LGBT adults), and about 2.1 million LGBT adults rely on SNAP. Cuts or barriers to SNAP not only increases hunger but also impacts health outcomes, from diabetes management to medication adherence. Our clinicians see that impact every day, and our community teams work to connect patients with benefits and food resources. Here’s how you can help today:
-Donate to your local food bank. Dollars stretch further than cans.
-Volunteer for a sorting or distribution shift.
-Advocate: Tell your elected officials to protect and strengthen SNAP.
-Be a connector: Share eligibility info and help a neighbor apply.

Policy + community = fewer empty plates and healthier outcomes. 🧡

Breast health is for everyone no matter your gender or body. 💗

Screening guidelines can look different for everyone but one thing stays the same: early detection and awareness save lives.

Whether it’s a mammogram, chest exam, or simply knowing what’s normal for your body, talking with your provider about what’s right for you makes all the difference.

✨ Take care of your chest. Know your body. Ask questions.

🌈Happy International Pronouns Day! Using someone’s correct pronouns is more than a sign of respect, it’s a step toward equity. When medical providers use affirming pronouns, patients are more likely to return for care and experience improved overall health outcomes. At Prisma, we’re committed to creating a space where everyone feels seen, affirmed, and cared for.
