October is ADHD Awareness Month. ADHD has some new and innovated ways to be treated according to JFCS' Medical Director, Dr. Edwin Perez.

Check out our blog for key insights and helpful resources at https://www.jfcsaz.org/jfcs-in-the-news/2025/september/adhd-treatment-in-2025-what-s-new-what-works-and/

By spreading awareness and educating ourselves, we can create a more supportive environment for those living with ADHD. 🧡

ADHD research is moving quickly, giving families more individualized care than ever. While medication and behavior therapy remain the core treatments, new delivery methods, supportive technologies, and evolving psychosocial strategies mean there are more options on the table.

🌿 September is Healthy Aging Month 🌿

As this month comes to a close, we invite you to take one last moment to reflect on the importance of protecting our mental, emotional, and physical well-being as we grow through every stage of life.

At JFCS, we believe mental wellness is at the heart of healthy aging. When we prioritize resilience, connection, and compassionate care, we create a foundation for purpose and hope.

✨ What a night! ✨

Our September Living Room Conversation was a tremendous success. A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Paul and Susan Stander for opening their home, and to everyone who joined us for this important discussion.

We were honored to hear from Linda Scott, Vice President of Child & Family Solutions at JFCS, who shared her deep expertise on Arizona’s mental and behavioral health climate. With more than 31 years of service at JFCS, Linda’s wisdom reflects both her unwavering commitment and the urgency of this critical work.

As Linda emphasized, advocating for Medicaid and behavioral health funding is vital. At the same time, philanthropy plays an essential role in reducing reliance on government resources and ensuring continuity of care when public funding falls short. While this conversation was not a fundraising ask, it highlighted the pressing need for both advocacy and private support to meet the challenges ahead.

🎨 Sharing a few moments from our Watercolor Painting Class that began in August at ACOYA Shea.

We are also sharing this beautiful feedback from our instructor:

"Class was great!! One woman hugged me afterwards and told me I didn't know how much this class meant to her because she has Parkinson's and hasn't painted in years. Another woman had never painted before and was so excited that she said she's going to frame her painting."

💜 Stories like these remind us why Creative Aging matters.

August is -A-WillMonth, the perfect time to think about how your legacy can shape the future. 💜

JFCS supporters Jeff and Melissa didn’t just plan ahead. They made sure their values of compassion, community and connection will live on.

“If something unexpected happens, will your estate plan work as you wanted?" Jeff asked. "Take action! Just get it done.”
