In January 2026 I began to follow a beautiful story unfolding about a simple, quiet walk involving 19 Buddhist monks and their loyal dog Aloka {who was rescued during a previous walk in India in 2022}. I was so intrigued by the walk that I drove from my home on the east coast of South Carolina to Great Falls, South Carolina and up to Charlotte, North Carolina following their journey. As I watched them walk and had the honor of attending one of their nightly peace talks I began to experience a new kind of peace fill my heart. I continued to watch their journey on-line all the way to Washington, DC and am forever moved by what I learned as I watched these strong, steady masters live what they were teaching.
They taught us that when you appreciate something you can say "sadhu" (three times) which means - I acknowledge this meritorious deed.
