I love being a PA. In my 3.5 years in practice, I've never once regretted my career choice. The nature of our work is fulfilling, engrossing, but can become all consuming if you aren't careful. It's important to remember that you are more than your profession. Your job should allow you to live a life you love outside of the workplace. If it doesn't, it might be time for a change.

A preceptor once told me "Your first job probably won't be your dream job." She was right. After 2.5 years of being overworked, underpaid, & disrespected, I'd finally had enough. I'm now a lead PA with the salary, work life balance, & respect I deserve. Making that leap was scary, but worth it.
