This is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about our NAMIWalks and how you can make a difference for mental health in our community. Our main Walk Day is Saturday, October 11th, 2025!

Happy Juneteenth! On this significant day, we remember June 19, 1865, when the last enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas, received news of their freedom. This day is a powerful reminder of the long fight for liberation and justice.

NAMI Valley of the Sun stands in solidarity with the African American community, acknowledging the historical and ongoing challenges, including those related to mental health equity. We are committed to dismantling barriers and promoting mental wellness for all. Let’s celebrate this day by reflecting on history and renewing our commitment to a more just and mentally healthy future.

We’ve got critical news from the Senate. The Senate Finance Committee just released their version of Medicaid provisions, and unfortunately, it includes significant cuts – potentially even more severe than the House’s proposed $800 billion. This bill could lead to millions losing healthcare coverage, including vital mental health services.

Your voice is URGENTLY needed! The Senate aims to pass this by July 4th. We need every NAMI advocate and ally to contact your Senators NOW. Just four Republican votes can stop this bill!

Let’s stand together to protect Medicaid and ensure access to mental healthcare for all.
