Sometimes patients donā€™t qualify for charity care. Maybe they donā€™t apply or donā€™t know itā€™s available, and so hospitals record unpaid bills as ā€œbad debt.ā€ Thatā€™s still part of uncompensated care.

Regardless, care was given and patients got help. Because hospitals stand for people, not profits.

AzHHA is proud to support our members in advocating for the needs of Arizonaā€™s rural hospitals. šŸ„

Last week, Canyon Vista Medical Center hosted Governor Katie Hobbs alongside hospital leaders from Tucson Medical Center and Copper Queen Community Hospital to discuss the challenges and opportunities shaping rural healthcare ā€” including Medicaid cuts, RHTP funding, workforce pressures and efforts to expand essential service lines.
