The JDRF One Walk, Arizona Match day is TOMORROW, Thursday, March 23rd!

Presenting Level walk sponsor, Sonora Quest Laboratories, will match donations made online to JDRF One Walk, Arizona participants starting Thursday, March 23rd at noon (12 pm MST - Arizona time) until we reach our total match of $25,000!

We are flying high to have Pietro Marsala joining us to share his VERY inspirational story "Soaring to New Altitudes, Don’t Let Type 1 Ground You!" at the JDRF TypeOneNation Summit on March 4th, 8AM-1PM at the Desert Willow Conference Center.

Pietro was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at 21, crushing his dreams of becoming a commercial airline pilot. He fought for his right to fly, becoming the first pilot with type 1 in the US to be certified medically to fly commercially.

It's Super Bowl Sunday, and we're fired up for tonight's match up against the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs. 🏈 🏆⁣

We want to especially wish T1D champions Kansas City Chiefs' ⁣tight end, Noah Gray who lives with type 1 diabetes (T1D) and his teammate offensive tackle, Orlando Brown Jr. who does not live with himself, but is active in spreading awareness in support of his brother who lives with the disease, as well as his late father, Orlando Brown Sr.⁣ ⁣

Now, there's no doubt Noah and Orlando are both on and off the field, so we'll be rooting for them both.⁣⁣ ⁣

We are excited to have Peter Friedfeld and Brianna Schiavoni from DiabetesSangha at our TypeOneNation Summit on March 4th facilitating "Meditation & T1D: Bringing Wisdom to Life with Diabetes." This session will guide an introductory meditation practice, discuss strategies for bringing meditation into everyday life, and share some of their own journeys bringing a meditative min

At the carefree age of 56, Peter was quite surprised to be diagnosed with Diabetes, on Valentines Day no less. In the early days of COVID under home confinement Peter began his relationship with a mindfulness practice and Zen teachings—both of which have helped him immensely in so many ways. He is passionate about connecting in the community and in finding ways to give back

Brianna was diagnosed at 14 and wanted nothing more than to escape her mind and body as she transitioned from adolescence into adulthood. She found that yoga and meditation would ultimately provide her with the sanctuary she so desperately needed. Her values, character strengths and skill sets led her into the fields of psychology and medical social work.
