How it began

I got stuck in surgery in 1991 working as a surgical technologist. 1996 I was diagnosed with Hepatitis C. In my operating room in Oak Ridge TN 12 other doctors and nurses had taken the treatment for Hep C and 2 got better 10 said they would never do it again they were still sick. I refused treatment. I was told I need a liver transplant or I am going to die. I said I was born to die. We moved to CA and I was going to learn to surf before I died. I twisted my ankle in the rocks and I had broken my fibula 10 yrs prior, it hurt. I did not take any medication thru my liver. I saw an acupuncturist. He said he can help my ankle but I have liver disease. He said he saw it in my eyes, ears, tongue and pulse. He treated me but as I left I learned his partner was a liver cancer medical doctor from Nanjing China doing liver cancer research with San Diego University. She treated me with acupuncture and Chinese Medicine and I got well. My hepatologist at University of CA in Irvine was seeing my liver improve and I wasn’t taking his medication. He said don’t stop what you are doing it is working. I decided this is the medicine and I am going to school for this. I started in Anaheim, CA and met Acupuncturist who said I need to to learn from Dr. Gu he was an orthopedic surgeon who converted to acupuncture from Beijing. I took his 1.5 yr orthopedic acupuncture program and I had an internship in Beijing at 5 hospitals. I met others from another school who knew different things that I was learning in Anaheim. I change schools to learn more different views. As I have worked in surgery in TN, TX, AZ, CA, and MT there are at least 10 different ways to do the same surgery I figured in acupuncture it may be the same.

So I left CA for MA and worked 5 years in home town Plymouth by the water. Later I moved to FL and then moved back to AZ. In the beginning I charged the most, because in school that is what they taught, later I learned only some can get treatment because not every has $150.00. I decided to do community acupuncture to help those in need. Some pay more and some what they can. I make no judgement on money my job is helping people get well in their body they live in.

I am non-profit to keep being able to help others and not pay excess to the government in my taxes for helping others.

Some like me some don’t and it is ok. I am not for everyone. There are plenty of acupuncturist at different locations, costs, and experience find what makes you happy!
