Flavors from local Valley farms make the Sonoran Sipper a uniquely Arizona beer. With hibiscus from Shamba AZ, malt from Homestead Malting, and help from Sun Produce Co-op, O.H.S.O. Brewery has created a beer that celebrates our desert home while benefitting Local First Arizona's work to build a stronger Arizona for all.

Swipe to see what the farmers had to say about the collaboration, read more about the collaboration through the link below and JOIN US for a launch party tomorrow, October 23, at the O.H.S.O. Sunnyslope location. Cans will also be available for purchase at Fall Fest!

Cheers! 🍻

Sometimes, the best solutions are right under your feet, or in Jarvisson King’s case, walking around his fields. 🐑

When the Laughing Goat Gardens farmer discovered his sandy soil was missing key nutrients, the perfect fix turned out to be something his sheep had been growing all along: wool. Now, he’s turning it into wool pellets that bring life back to the land and nutrients back to the soil.

Talk about shear luck. 😉

Read Laughing Goat Gardens's story and learn more about wool pellet soil amendments on our latest blog:

It is somewhat of a Navajo taboo to laugh while planting, be it a backyard garden or rows of crops across a field. If you do, your harvest could be negatively affected. You might pull a cracked watermelon from the vine or experience some other harvest mishap. It’s what Jarvisson King has heard any

Food access can, and must, be addressed from many different angles. At El Rancho del Sol Apartments in Mesa, Local First Arizona is bringing that vision to life through a community garden, a food pantry and a community kitchen incubator for food entrepreneurs.

These efforts take a community, and we need your help!
📅 Volunteer in the El Rancho Community Garden on October 2 (tomorrow!) or October 16 to help us prep the beds for the upcoming season.
📅 Support neighbors directly by volunteering with the Choice Mesa Food Pantry, happening the same days in the morning and afternoon.

Together, we can build a more resilient and equitable food system, one raised bed, one pantry, and one local business at a time.

🌱 10/10 graduates recommend taking the Boot Camp.

From writing a business plan to touring local farms and connecting with other farmers, past participants call the Arizona Ag Business Boot Camp transformative.

Now it’s your turn. The Northern Arizona Winter Cohort kicks off Oct. 27 in Camp Verde — but enrollment is capped at 15 spots, and they’re almost gone.

“I want to get people growing foods again. I always imagined what it looked like. It’s hard for people to get back to that point.” Meet Ed Harvey, the man helping Tribal farmers reclaim their land. In fact, he's helped over 140 Native producers navigate the land permitting and conservation plan process to be able to grow and sell produce on reservation land - an amazing feat!
